I worked in one county and dated a girl there for almost two years. I was very happy with her and most of the time I thought I loved her. We spent wonderful time together. My project was over and I had to go to other mission in other country. My girlfriend loved me very much and she wanted to leave everything and come with me. But I did not feel ready to marry her or to take her everywhere I would go, I did not want to take this responsibility and I am not sure whether I really loved her. The fact that I didn't want to marry her, I accepted as an indicator that I did not love her. So I broke up with her and we both felt very bad. I wanted to keep in touch with her as a friend, but she told me that she wants to forget me and asked me to stop any contact. It is very painful, because she was very close to me. What do you think I broke up with her because it is not true love or just because of my fears of responsibility? (I believe that if I really loved I would not hesitate).

So we have been going out for two weeks now. Our school's winter formal is January 20, which is still a ways away, but they are making announcements, putting up posters, and have started selling tickets at school. I'm pretty sure that if I ask her she will say yes, but the one thing holding me back is that then what if something happens between us from now until then? I sincerely hope won't be the case, I really like this girl.

So my question is, should I go ahead and ask her to the dance, or wait a few weeks until it gets closer to the actual date (we go on winter break Dec. 21)? I asked my brother, who is a psychology major in college, and his advice was to wait a little and see if she says anything about it first.

For what its worth, I'm a sophmore and she's a freshman. Anyways, thanks for reading all of this and please respond!

I've known this guy for 3 years We regard one another as brother and sister on an outing yesterday, he was acting very weird. When i met him and we were waiting for a friend who was late, he gave me a christmas present. (Note that he didn't give the other friend who's male). Then he invited me to his house on New Year's, saying his mum wanted to see me. He didn't invite the other friend. Then while we were walking to the cinema he pointed to me and told the other friend " I like girls like her".
when we were having lunch i wanted to eat Clam Chowder but was lazy to get it myself and he volunteered to get it for me. So of course i agreed, but he rushed thru and fro twice to ask me what size i wanted and whether i wanted pepper. While watching the movie Happy Feet, i called him a penguin and he said " Then you're a penguin too, since you're a penguin's sis".
What are the chances he likes me, and why?
When he said i'm a penguin's sis, could it be because he couldn't say gf and such ?
