It would mean that he can't be trusted. Take it from a man - few of us can. Are you sure this is the only time? Is so, could be a one off blip - why does he say he risked his 5 year relationship for a one night stand. From my experience and my aquaintances - because it was there and I could - would be up there with the most popular answers. Also the male ego assuming they will be able to talk their way out of it.

It is my opinion that women (I know it is a large generalistion)believe what they want to belicve regardless of the facts. If they want to believe it will never happen again, regardless that they thought that the previous 10 times, then they will. I think it is because most women are decent when it comes to relationships - most men are dogs.

well he has ruined what was special between you both
do you know he has'nt cheated before? I think no man is capable of staying faithful (sorry guys) they get bored they show off in front of mates they get an ego boost that a different girl is interested but only you know whether you can forgive him and move on together or apart I could never fully trust the guy again but then again no guy is trust worthy at least not in my man history I've yet to be proved wrong
good luck what ever you decide

It means that he is not satisfied sexually. He may need something that you have not or cannot provided for him. Some fantasy unfulfilled. You must also asked if this is the first time cheating or the first time getting caught and besides after 5 years most relationships are elevated to another level. He maybe unable to commit to you.

Why are you even asking this question!? stay single. you're daughter might study lots of adverse issues from a cheating father. do no longer try this to her. coach her which you're loving mom and that single parenting could be achieved ok. coach her which you're reliable and proud; that your standards and expectancies are severe. enable her father to maintain a being concerned courting together with her yet you at the instant are not element of the deal. stable success.

It can mean tons of things. It really could be a lapse in judgement or it can be that he want's something else. This happens to tons of people and there is no clear cut answer. He could just be bored with what's going on but then again that's no reason to go out and cheat. You might wanna talk to him and find out what's the dealliyo.

well it could mean he is either bored or he did get very drunk, but i dont see those as true excuses, but it may well be that you both need to talk about it. if your heart tells you it was a mistake, then forgive and forget but if you have doubts, then forget it totally, it will only come up in arguements or one will always feel more in control over the other and relationships need to be equal. x

It means he's human! Monogamy is an unrealistic expectation that society conditions us with. If he's been committed to you for 5 years, still wants to be with you and has shown previously good character then whats the problem?

People changes with time just like the moon gets round sometimes. He deserves a second chance. However, advise him that one too often could hurt your relationship unless he wants to break-up. Don't think too much about it and move-on to make the relationship works.
