Singles & Dating - 3 October 2006

Well, I dated this boy for about a month, and now we're boyfriend and girlfriend. We've only talked on the phone a couple of times. We usually communicate on instant messenger, but there's just something about instant messaging I don't like. Sometimes you can misinterpret what the other person meant because you're only seeing what they say, not hearing it.

So yeah, I really wish we'd start talking on the phone instead, or at least talk on the phone MORE.

How do you feel about communication in a relationship? Do you think instant messaging is a good or bad way to communicate? Also, how could I go about explaining this to him?

Also, my last relationship was an online relationship, and I did nothing but instant message that guy for 2 years. Perhaps that's why I dislike it so much.

I mean that dates are supposed to be very romantic, and you are really supposed to impress the opposite sex. After the dating, and finally marriage, life just becomes very mundane, and it's nothing like it would be if you were dating.

Some people used to care about there looks when the opposite sex saw them anytime they would date (dressed up, and other stuff), but later it just doesn't seem that way. Some people say they have lost the love for the other person.

People realize this, and thus there's cheating, and divorces. Some people might think it's boring when you been with someone for so long. Why can't dating just be like normal life?

a guy that i like made me very mad and i got caried away and told him off because i felt he deserved it. the way i told him off was over the phone. a few weeks later he calls and when the call was answered he says oh i must have the wrong number. I guess he felt bad because he started moping around at work the reason i know is because my mom works at the same place. i gave in and called and just to say hi and i think hes coming around because he's been hanging around the area that my mother works in and trying to get her attention. just the other day he smiled at my mom.
I know all of this sound confusin and long but can you tell me what it means. i kind of want to know if he likes me.

It's pretty rare to find a girl that will actually ask a guy out on a date. So if a guy is attracted to a girl, what's the best way to ask them out without being boring i.e. 'Do you wanna grab a coffe sometime?' I'm told if you tell a girl that you'll be somewhere, indirectly, if they like you they will be there too without you actually asking them out. Is this true?

I have been dating this guy for a year and half, we have had our problems but alway seem to work them out. I have never been unfaithful or even lied to him about anything. Me and my boyfriend have been going out for almost 6 months (6months on the 19th of this month). recently we made it long distance because I didn't have a choice but to move. He got upset which is understandable, but we got in a fight and he said he didn't want to be together anymore... I went to see him and we made up. He told my best friend (which is a guy and his best friend as well) that he can't do it anymore because of the distance. He WON'T say it to me. I'm going to see him this weekend. okay, well this has been botherinb me for quite sometime mainly cause ive been head over heels for this guy [[ and he's quite the nerd but i find it adorbable]] and i know ill never do anything about it cause im not bold enough for that and he wont do anything about it either. I have no idea how he feels about me, we've talked a lot but not lately.. and i just really want to stop thinking about him

Alright, here's the deal everyone. There is this girl in one of my classes that I think is absolutley amazing. I swear I had one of those corny movie moments where time seemed like it was going in slow motion the first time i saw her. I'm able to talk to her no problem, but when it comes to somehting like asking her out, I tend to shy away a little bit because I really like this girl, and kinda don't want to screw it up. okay its this guy i really like, i met him when he went to my high school because he was one of my brother's friends,so one day on myspace we get to talking and we start flirting, well he started it and we kept going. after that I started to catch feelings but he has a girlfriend. so i thought to myself why would he flirt with me yet he seems like he loves his gurl because they leave comments on each other pages still. he been with her since their 10 grade year my friend who knows him told me this ,before I even got to ( in 06 his last year)high school, he graduated in 06.
