Singles & Dating - 29 July 2006

It took me about a year to get a date with this girl. She is hispanic and I am white. We went on about five dates and had a good time. We still talk to each other regularly but we seem to be losing momentum. She just graduated from college about a year ago, so there is a eight year age difference between us. Do you think she is reluctant to get involved with me because I am from a different culture (race) or are we just at different stages of life?

He's going to Missori, I'm stuck here in Reno. We've been together for 6 years, and I hope to marry this man. He's the ideal, the PERFECT man for me, and we've never lost the spark we had 6 years ago.

Problem is, he's going to a place where the girls are just as nerdy as him, and most certainly more attractive then I. How can I ensure that he stays with me and remains as heartily in love with me as he is now?

I am not the most beautiful person in the world,but i am pretty good looking.I am intelligent , in school , make my own money, and am willing to help anyone in need,(unless I felt it necessary not to). My ex and I decided to stay friends, I dint really want to. He calls me and I answer. But I havent been calling him and he complains. The reason is Im in the process of getting over him 100% Im up to 80% I think. When we talk, convo lasts 5-10 minutes, sometimes 20!! He says he call me back, and he usually doesnt. It does not bother me b/c Ive grown to expect this. 2 weeks had passed since the last time we spoke. The last time, I called him he said hed call me back and that was the 2 weeks prior Im talking about now. I just want to kno why he complains when I dont call him yet when i do he has to go and he never calls back till days and weeks later. He and I are done. Im wondering if he just wants me to keep calling as an ego boost. Does he still care for me? B4 our break up he had told me he doesnt keep contact w/ x's. I told him I thought I loved him, he said the same,then..."have to go, I'll call you back." Never did. Here I am 3 days later. WHAT GIVES?

My grandma said that I cannot continue on with my boyfriend, just simply because that he's not a German!!! whats the big deal? she said that this family has been pure-"breed" German through generations and generations, and that I cannot ruin it for the family! does it really matter? Whats so good about Germany? I've never even been there in my whole 16 years of life. and I am not leaving my boyfriend after all that we've been through. My grandma just has TOO much national pride. I'm going through a really hard time with a family situation. My uncle was just diagnosed with lung cancer, and he's in possibly the worst shape anyone with the disease could be in. Obviously, this was all due to smoking. He has max. 8 weeks to live. Now, this is hard enough for me, and thinking about what my aunt is dealing with is even harder. They're only 61, and he's about to leave her for the rest of her life. The last memories she'll ever have of him are in pain and suffering. So that's the background info for my question. See, my b/f's a smoker and right now its really hard for me to deal with this. I've told him how I feel and it's really important to me for him to quit or at least cut back and not smoke around me. Since I only see him on weekends, I dont see what could be so hard for him to do either. I just dont want to be where my Aunt is. Weve been together for about 2 years. I really love him and we plan on marriage. BUT he wont be respectful of my situation. What do I do?

My boyfriend dumped me saying that he needed some space and I believed him. I always told him that I was there for him and that I was waiting for him. I waited for two months without a word from him, and after that, I find that he is with another person. This totally destroyed me. How do I ever trust someone again??? Should I keep waiting for this person I love, and have already forgiven or should I give up? Should I fight for his love or move on? I really love him.
