My ex and I decided to stay friends, I dint really want to. He calls me and I answer. But I havent been calling him and he complains. The reason is Im in the process of getting over him 100% Im up to 80% I think. When we talk, convo lasts 5-10 minutes, sometimes 20!! He says he call me back, and he usually doesnt. It does not bother me b/c Ive grown to expect this. 2 weeks had passed since the last time we spoke. The last time, I called him he said hed call me back and that was the 2 weeks prior Im talking about now. I just want to kno why he complains when I dont call him yet when i do he has to go and he never calls back till days and weeks later. He and I are done. Im wondering if he just wants me to keep calling as an ego boost. Does he still care for me? B4 our break up he had told me he doesnt keep contact w/ x's. I told him I thought I loved him, he said the same,then..."have to go, I'll call you back." Never did. Here I am 3 days later. WHAT GIVES?

1 - If it isn't rebuilding, then is it draining you from pursuing other intimate relationships? If it is, then consider focusing on other men.

2 - You will probably always have feelings of love for him and he for you, but if your chemistry brings you more down then up, consider moving on. At the least, as you said, he is being inconsistent and inconsiderate.

3 - You don't have to hate or to be rude. But politely care for him occasionally, define your boundaries, and consider moving on.

I understand how you feel. I am curious as to why you went against your feelings of staying friends with him in the first place.
However, I have had an ex do this to me before.. And the reason he didn't call back was because he found some other girl to talk to , and when that didn't work out, he was back to calling me again.. The best way to make it stop is to just cut it off.. Tell him that you think its time to move on and stop calling each other. I did that and things worked out for the best.. He did try calling me one year later after i told him that and I let him know that I was happy that he moved on in his life.. that kind of helped open his eyes to the fact that I wasn't going to keep conversing with him.. If all else fails change your phone number, I think by then you will already be wise enough to not make the same mistake twice.. :)

Maybe he has plans to keep you as a spare if something else doesn't work out for him.Best thing to do is to change your number, change your mind and get on with your life without the ex.
