Since my mother's recent death, a friend from work had been literally begging me to come and stay overnight at her house. This past weekend, I was finally able to - not because I really wanted to, but just to get her off my back. However, when I got ready to leave and go back home, she said "Just a minute" then proceeded to present me with a bill for $85. I was shocked. Naive me - I thought she was asking me to come and stay at her house out of the kindness of her heart, which I promptly expressed to her, then asked her if she was running a a bed and breakfast. She got huffy and replied that anyone would expect to pay for two meals (dinner the previous evening and breakfast the following morning) and for using a bedroom for which she would now have to clean and do laundry. Of course, I didn't pay her and left in a snit. Since then we haven't spoken and it's created some tension in the workplace. I just wanted to know if I should have handled it better? Should I have just paid her?

I had no friends until i met this one boy named Keith. Throughout the years, we have become more than best friends... were like family. We know what were thinking before we even think it, we laugh all the time. and when were not, we try to make the best of everything.
My other best friend has dated Keith for a while now, and she is absolutely obbsessed over him. they got in a fight, and she smacked him at the valentine's day dance. Now, their not talking and i'm in the middle. She thinks I love Keith. and though i assure her that i don't like him like that, i'm not entirely sure that i can convince myself of that.
If it wasn't for him, i would have killed myself. Honestly, i was so sick of being alone and being hurt.
If i love him, i don't want to hurt my other friend... And if they ever get back together, i'd be willing to let go of my deep feelings for him in order to assure their happiness?
Can i do it?

There is this friend who is a girl, she stays glued to my butt! She follows me everywhere, I don't like her that much! She is annoying sometimes but I don't wanna hurt her. When I go to the movies with a bunch of friends and I try to sit next to the girl I love, she comes and sits next to me instead and never shuts up! For example I have a party tonight and she asks me if I'm going, I tell her that I'm not sure, she tells me please come so I could stay with you all night! Now I'm thinking of not going to this party because of this! I feel that I can't move when she is around! Help! What should I tell her in a nice way?

i hane done stupid things in the past and things have happened. i was really close to some one before i moved and 2 month later when i moved back she and everyone else turned agianst me. im the only person wit a mohawk in school , no one likes it but its me and i try to be still close to her but were drifting apart. the real question is how can i let go without being as upset i am16 and im about to go nuts . and i have only few simple friends but i barely talk to like that . so how do you give it all up. pgmsa. peace

Alright so my friends and I recently got in trouble at school because our clique was being "mean to other people". We hardly ever talk to anyone else, and I assure you, if we do, it's being nice. But apparently, my friends sign on AIM and decide to tell me how IM THE ONE THAT'S ALWAYS MEAN AND ITS ALL MY FAULT! I stayed home all week because I was sick, and now i'm going to school for the last day before spring break. I have to go here in about...1 hour, so anything you could tell me BEFORE would be great. have u watched the final destination movies?? well, i have this weird feeling that all of it may be true..i say this cos my apparently happy friend who had it all took her life for no reason at all.. according to her mom she's had three near death accidents the past couple of months.. i know this sounds mean but i think my friend was destined to die one way or other.. do u feel the same way??

I have a friend who I have known awhile now but recently his 'quirks' have been irritating everyone and he has just been left alone.. When I think about it I feel really guilty, but like most people we can't cope.

Thing is, he is a constant liar and attention seeker but it doesn't seem to be for negative reasons. IMO He is just looking for acceptance and feels the need to be accepted by everyone. He will often change his 'face' to fit in, if this means acting tough, or changing his taste in films. I understand everyone changes around different people due to wanting to be liked but his change is so evident and everyone can see it. Some of his outlooks on appeasing people and so on are just wrong and its just annyoing..

Nobody wishes to talk to him about it and most people generally dislike him now. He's smarmy and five-faced and.. I dont know.. I think he genuinely just wants to be liked.. Should someone speak to him?

What are peoples opinions?

Well both of my best friends dated for about 6 months then broke up because of two things, they wanted space and there was abuse involved. Thing is they did decided to be friends, but my guy friend wasn't really acting friendly to her. She was getting really upset so she got an appointment in our guidance office to get this straightend out, and decided she wanted me in there for support. Well things were getting cleared and were going good but when we went outta there he went back to his old ways. Point is he is so mad at her for some reason he won't even talk to her but every time i try to talk to him (not even about her about other things) he will just ignore me. I really don't want to get in the middle of it because i am now at risk of losing both of my best friends over this. What do you people think i should do?

it made me think about this topic i mean am i really that controlling i dont want all of my friends to hate me and it scares me that i might be trying to controll things but not in their life only in mine why should that make me controlling and should i not be friends with this person anymore because she said this i mean i have NEVER tried to controll anything in anyone elses life not even my boyfriend and why should it be any of her buisness what i do and when and how i do it is she just trying to be a good friend or is she trying to break our friendship apart im so confused

p.s the only thing i did to controll anything was ask this guy if he could please stop picking up the bench that me and my friends were sitting on
