I've been friends with this girl since high school. She moved far away after high school. We always liked each other but, we never dated.
She moved back down with her bf, whom she met "far away". They dated for 5 years. She always talked to me about her problems with her bf. I got really close to her because I felt like we were good friends. She finally broke up with him after some advice I gave her (it was good advice....not beneficial for me)

Well, she has this Something About Mary Complex. All guys fall in love with her because of her personality. There is this other guy who loves her and guess what, they dated in high school. Most of her friends are guys.

She wants to go on a road trip because I mentioned I never been up north before and thats where she is from. The thing is she doesn't really talk to me that much on the phone or anything. I talked to her today and we are definitely going. What should I do?

She is very sarcastic...she hides behind things.

by someone answering your questions? Even emailing you constantly? Or do you just shrug, and say, get over it?

My 16 yr old has always been difficult..I have had him in counseling since he was 10 and he spent almost 2 yrs in a Military type shelter for difficult children. I visited him every weekend while he was in the shelter 2 1/2 hr drive one way. He has terrible grades and is often suspended. The principal will not let him in the regular school because he is disruptive in class. He is currently in alternative school 4 hrs a day. They would kick him out but they labeled him Special Ed. He smokes etc and has no allowance or work because he won't do anything to earn $
He will be moving in with his brother who is FT military.
I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. He opens the windows in the middle of winter, Leaves doors unlocked etc. Any simple task he refuses to even try to do right.
I take him to hockey games, movies, races, rodeos, concerts etc. I am really hurt he doesn't want to behave. I don't want to give this burden to my other son but don't know what to.

My ex bf was the one who dumped me, so I was really shocked when he told me that he wants to see me and "meet up". He called me, and planned the whole thing (a movie). I assumed there would be coffee afterwards since after one year I thought he wanted to really talk & catch up. He picked up, but he never opened any doors for me, he walked ahead of me, & after the movie he just drove me home. He never walked me to my door & just said "merry Christmas". He never tried to even hug me so I just shook his hand & said bye. I felt like trash after the date, he treated me bad, like s**t. He would open doors & walk me to my door when we were going out, but I thought he would be a gentlemen again cuz of all the effort he put in to set up this date, by calling & picking me up. I thought after the movie, we would have coffee and that he would say either 1) I want u back, or 2) I wanna be friends. I thought #2 is what he would say. Neither of this happened. WHY did he do that & treat me like that?

After dating my ex for 8 months he told me we needed a break he said i didn't give him any space. i got upset and tried to make him jealous by dancing with my ex at a party he then broke up with me. We kept in contact for 2 months and kept on having sex. During this time we would have long night conversations and he continued to lead me on knowing how i felt about him. He told me that he talks with other girls on the phone but i kept on holding on hoping that there was a chance for us. Out of frustration i called his telephone company and pretended to be him and told them that i forgot my voicemail password, got his password and checked his voicemail. The day before he found out i checked his voicemail he met up with me and told me we can no longer be friends. He then changed his phone number and hasn't contacted me since it's been 20 days since. I cry often and am lost. What should i do and whats your opinion about the situation. I still love him, should i still hold on?

i have friends we usually go out,btw we're 9 in the group, 4 of them were always borrowing money from me saying that they don't have money or the money that was sent by their parents were delayed and it takes a long time before they can return it to me they told me that they will return it before our xmas vacation but until now they didn't pay it yet, it'll be alright if they'll just tell me that they will pay it after our xmas vacation but the mere fact that they made their promises made me disappointed... am confused...are they my real friends?or not?

6 wks., before i graduated college, which i just did, i met this girl. we had an instant connection, like nothing i ever felt. i really started to feel like my feelings for her were other-worldly. she started to like me too but a guy, who was a close friend to her, asked her out. it makes sense for her to be with him over me- they know each other better, belong in each other's social worlds, and he can physically be with her (i live 500 miles away) so i told her that she should be with him and i'd just be her friend and not say anything. but she couldn't handle it bc she liked me, and said that she had to hold back around me. i started to date my ex again. so basically we both like each other in an innate way but know that we can't be together. still, i can't get over her and constantly worry i am hurting her. how do i figure out what to do?

My father is a multiple-regressive alcoholic who needs hospitalization or detox any time he is off the wagon. He has been sober, supposedly for a few months. I an a 34-year old with a wife and 3 little kids. He and his wife are not understanding why I am so skittish to re-enter his life, after over a decade of pain and heartbreak. We are on speaking terms, but I know he wants more, and wants to see the kids more. I am trying to insulate them from the heartbreak I have felt off and on for the last 15 years.

So I guess the question is, is it fair for me to keep him at arm's reach and to insulate my kids from having any real bond with he or his wife (also an alcoholic, BTW). My protectiveness says stay away, danger, danger. My love for him says, he'll be gone some day and then it will be too late.

I have honestly been so hurt by him, I am most comfortable just avoiding him, but I feel like I have to decide. Advice from adults appreciated.

Buddy of mine got six (count em' thats 6) of us home at about 3 in the morning after a very late and very drunken party. He selflessly drove all these people, most of whom he wasnt planning on taking with him in a borrowed (& crowded) sedan. The rain was coming down hard, and much of the streets were flooded. Although I myself was fine, there were two people in the car who had drank too much, ate very little, and had little tolerance, so they were throwing up for much of the ride home. Some of their, ugh, "sickness", got on parts of car doors and further complicated the night, although we later managed to clean it up. What started out as a fun night out turned into an almost nightmarish drive home. I was thinking of getting him something to show much I appreciate his friendship, kindness, and safe driving. What in the world would make an suitable gift? All suggestions welcomed.
