Saturday is the say that most of them are on if you are having a standard wedding. that way the people who traveled have time to get back home, people who are hung over can recover, ect. the time of year really depends on where you live and what type of wedding you want to have. do not pick a rainy season. most people thin winter weddings are bad, but my cousin got married in December and it was beautiful. they had a navy blue and silver snowflake themed wedding. there are a ton of things that go into planning a wedding. trust me, you will be ready to just go to the court house after too long. the first thing you should do is pick a day and reserve the church and reception site, those are always the first things that get booked fast. after that, find the photographer you want. buy a wedding planning book from the bookstore, it will explain everything.

If you try to pick a Saturday in June you might have to wait until 2012.

A lot of it has to do with the schedules of everyone in both families. Next it has to do with the availability of the church and reception hall. You will have to make many compromises.

My first wedding was May 26 and my second was January 19. I am enjoying the excuse to take time off from work mid-winter to go someplace warm for my anniversary each year!

If you are sentimental, you might like to pick dates that already have meaning, such as:

-the day you met
-the day you started dating
-anniversary date of an important event in history and make a theme of it (eg, Dec 24, 1906 was the first aired radio broadcast ever, so, a few days ago that made it the 100-year anniversary of radio broadcasting, pretty cool if you're in the field of broadcasting)
-the day he proposed
-your parents anniversary
-the day you first said 'i love you'
-some big event that you're both into and schedule it for that day so you can have a kicka** honeymoon, ie, your fave band comes to town and you get married and everyone goes to the concert afterwards, or you have a cowboy wedding and everyone goes to the rodeo afterwards, etc.

Maybe that'll get the wheels turning. Congratulations!

Pick a day that is convenient to you, your partner, and the bridal party. We wed on a Thursday, it really freaked people out. But I wanted it on the 5th of any month because our first date was the 5th or April. It just so happened that the date fell on a Thursday

friday night is nice for a formal wedding or for a cocktail party wedding. saturdays are great. as far as a date goes i wanted to get married in the fall so late sept. was perfect. like all brides i was scared that the weather would be nasty so i used the farmer's almanac to pick a nice day. it worked! Good Luck!!

Saturday is the most popular day, mainly for practical reasons. It means guests don't have to work that day, and neither do they have to work next day so they don't have to travel home that evening
