The daughter of a friend of mine, 13 yo,got a really harsh punishment for her mom, for bad behavior. For 1 month the girl, except for school time, has to be in bed all the time, including weekends and holydays. No TV, computer, etc. Friends just for homework at her bedside. The girl, of course, is allowed to use the bathroom, for the strictly necessary time.
Her mom said she has an electronic device similar to a camera, a kind of sensor that can register when the girl gets up and comes back to bed. So her mom can control her punishment without having to watch the girl 24/7. With such device she can know how many times the girl left her bed and for how much time, and decide if it was reasonable for bathrommneed or not.

I think this punishment is simply cruel and can cause seriuos psychological damages. In my opinion its even child abuse. Is it legal?

The other day a very good friend of mine wants me to have a late Thanksgiving dinner w/ her and her family. No problem, right? Just go. Not that easy. I am very angry with her mother. She is my godmother. She exposed her kids to some pretty dangerous things, against her lawyers advice. She also exposed me and my sister to that same danger against my mother's demand. I can't say what that danger is but let me tell she was once a hero of mine, no longer. I don't like going over to her house without my mom, she makes it easier. My mom makes it less serious. I have known this women since I was baby, I should be loose and comfortable. But I always feel awkward.

So the question is do I go there and ditch my best friend who is always there for me, or not go to dinner with a women who put her kids, me, and my sister in danger. *If it were her dad trust me it would be no question, I would go.* Please help me out!

if he'd want to hang out with me this weekend. since hes always the one initiating the hanging out i thought i should this time. he lives like an hour away and i dont see him much. anyways, he texted me in the a.m. saying hed love to hang out.(btw he said he hates texting and never texts like anyone) later in the day he sends me a random text saying something about miracles. so i was like do you believe in miracles(what else was i gona say) he goes yes. so my guy friend told me to say "you are a miracle" (he said if a girl said that to him hed be flattered as hell and woudl be happy) so eventually i did say it. the kid i like goes "how so" in response. i say "you just are" and ever since then i havent heard from him. and now im curious if we are still hanging out this weekend cus i havent heard form him in awhile. and i also needa know when he plans on hanging out. shoudl i be the one to ask him? or shoudl i wait and see if he calls me about it?
