The only people that I ever loved in my life are my sisters and my now ex-husband. My husband treated me badly, but it took me years to figure out that I didn't deserve it.

I really don't want to go through all that again. Love just hurts too much and costs too much in terms of low self-esteem and broken dreams.

In addition, based on the answers that I am getting to my questions on here... there really aren't many men out there who are interested in an adventerous, outdoorsy 'career' woman, all the men seem to want is someone to be at home and look after their kids. I got called 'cold' and 'unloving' by someone who felt that women should focus on being in the home and playing traditional roles.

That's just not for me I'm afraid. I'm about ready to give up on the whole thing and plan to live my life alone. At least I'll get to pick the furniture and where to go on holiday.

Is this the right thing to do? Should I keep trying? Is there a man out there for me?

My father has been deceased for five years. She is active in a church singles group, dates regularly, and never visits the cemetery. My siblings and I feel this is a little inappropriate but none of us has the nerve to tell her. My boyfriend's parents celebrated their 50th last year with a nice open house and I think my mom feels she is entitled to her own party, too. Has anyone encountered this situation? Are we wrong for not feeling comfortable with this "event"? This will take place at a nice restaurant and she says this is "what Dad would have wanted". She exhibits passive aggressive tendencies and likes to use guilt to manipulate us.

I got a credit card in his name. He is over 30 and never establised credit. He is in Prison now, lay low on the extra comments, and I asked him and he said ok if it will help me get out of financial bind. I'd ofcourse not screw it up like I did mine so many years ago but I'm trying to fix it and I need help. I'd keep up with the payments and wouldn't be easier for us to buy a house if he has established credit and I keep it GOOD and in good standing? Is this a bad idea?

I broke up with this guy and everything was good.... then he startes to call me and ask me to get back with him. i started to feel guilt and decided to try and make our relationship work. Do you think I maded the right move.
The reason I broke up with him is because he tried to force himself on me one night.

my hair is course. I am african american, and i've got a thick, medium length mane. I hate it because everytime I try to do something with it, it falls apart within days. I'm currently unemployed, so I don't have money to get it done professionally. Does anyone have any ideas ?

A Month ago we had to tell our neighbors in a nice way to stop parking and digging burn holes on our property.. But they said that is was there property.. Now i helped these people get into this place when they no where to go. we explained to them what the property line was.. but they had some county friend of theres come walk it off and said it was there property.. We had it surveyed and like we said it was ours.. Do you think they should fill in the holes and clean up the trash that they have done to our property? And know they dislike us and we did nothing but help can anyone tell me why?

She’s over 21/single, I’m single…

Our 5th date just a few inches away from having sex, condom in hand, Of course I was fine with that and said…”ok, fine”…although, I could have persisted but chose not to, WHAT DID SHE EXPECT? She asked if I was upset, but I wasn’t, I was simply appalled by this sort of action…oh well…BTW, I calmly asked her what happened, and she said “IDK”…

How would you deal with someone who routinely ignores you, tunes you out, disregards what's important to you (because it's unimportant to him)?

I'm well-aware that all of us have much too much on on plates (and minds), and I don't expect people to hang onto my every word or deed, but it is so hurtful to me when things I say are clearly tuned out. I stop speaking mid-sentence to see if he's really listening; he has never, ever noticed.

Yes, I've tried many, many times to sensitize him by telling him how hurtful it is to me. He apologizes -- genuinely seems contrite -- but unfailingly repeats the insulting, demeaning behavior.

I'm sick of the I'm-sorries, sick from being ignored, and just don't know what to do.
