Been doing some genealogy work and wondered legally what an attorney has to do with the files of someone who has expired. Do they go straight into the trash? Is there any way to find out say who was the attorney of my great grandfather who lived in Manhatten in the 30s through the 50s? And if you could find that out and the firm was still in business - would they possibly share what records they had? Or would they legally be prevented from doing so?

I have basically been with this guy since the end of January and he still tells people we are just friends. My daughter and I stay at his house every night and have since April. We both get jealous or upset about things like a relationship but I guess I am not worthy of the title Girlfriend. I question what I am doing wrong and get scared that I will lose him...Please help....

If you and your best friend were "partners". I was at a BBQUE today and the lady who was hosting it asked me if my friend and I were partners or just living together. I was shocked, cuz I didn't think people would think we were? I mean my best friend and I are veryyyy close no doubt, and we do things together all the time...as all friends do..but is there like a deeper concern? My husband loved someone after our marriage when i was pregnant.mine is early pregnancy and iam basically shy girl which he knows very well before marriage itself.we roamed about before marriage for 4 months during that time he was very good and i also said iam very shy and i dont talk much,for which he didnot say anything.later after marriage he started loving my own sister and she also loved him,now i have 5yrs old boy .they both have been loving for past few yrs and after her marriage she have told him that she didnot love my husband but acted for my sister's sake as i had few problems in my in_laws place.so she have said that she loved him only for my sake that i should be happy. but my husband was in deep love with her,he couldnot tolerate that she didnot love him, so now he have become vexed and he wanted to either divorce me or even he wants to sucide.but all these 5 yrs he was good to me.iam in cricitcal position i love my husband verymuch and i dont want to miss him pls help.

My friend is currently getting ready for a divorce. Her and her husband have been married 4 years, and they have had their hard times with credit, and making it. They spent the last two years fixing his credit, and getting his **** together, and now he has perfect credit and hers is still ruined. They were supposed to begin working on hers but now it's too late? Any advice for her. P.S. He wants her to keep her newer car and he get the house. There are no children involved but it seems like she is getting screwed either way. Any advice

This girl was a good friend of mine.As time went by I started to fall for her.She was my first love.She's the only person who can make me smile just by looking at me.She makes me the happiest person on earth.The problem is she likes someone the same way I like her.As in she'd just rather be friends with me.I just wanted to make her happy.We never went out as bf/gf.Although I wanted that more than anything in the world. And in these past few weeks it had become a sickness for me.I lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks and slept just a few hours everynight.I was in complete misery.I happened to be with her when I finally just hit rock bottom.I broke down and cried to her."I am nothing without you.".I think I just upset her.I know she cares about me, as a friend.She'd ask me if I ate anything or slept.A few days ago her friend told me eveything I didnt want to hear."Impossible" is what she said .I finally just said I give up. I cant win. Am I right to just give up on her?On my happiness?

I've been going out with my boyfriend for about a month and I really like him. We haven't gotten too many chances to talk though because it's summer. I've talked to him about it but he's busy and I'm busy, we're both going places this summer and it's hard to talk and see eachother. I'm not sure if I should just wait or if I should just end it. ok so recently my bf went to a strip club, and he was nice enough to tell me that he went there. but then he also told me that he enjoyed it soo much, and he was planning to go again with his friends on 4th o july. he is in new jersey and i am in maryland at the moment, thats like a 3 hours drive. he told me he had a lapdance.
I didnt know how to react. I wasnt jealous at first but then later on thats the only thing that came to my mind. it makes me crazy. he says he loves me and he will go again since all his friends are going and he wouldnt wana stay alone at home on the 4th o july weekend. and he promised me that he wouldnt take a lapdance.
i know he loves me but he doesnt get it in his head that him going there is a BIG DEAL to me!
He kept apologizing and asking me what i should do to him.
I told him I didnt want to talk to him for a week. So I havnt talked to him since wednesday.
But then next wednesday i dont really know how to react, when the week is over.

my mother is 75 and in fairly good health. We have continual communication problems. I have spent thousands of dollars to help her, she recently sold her home, I had spent money to have it put in show shape and when we took our part for the repairs (which she knew I had done) she acted like I was stealing from her no amount of cancelled checks can convince her..we have had several incidents like this.. I am an only child..she insists on doing things her way and gets very upset with my family , I have even asked her to go to family counseling..of course her reaction is there is nothing wrong with her..and money is not the only problem we have, its a daily encounter of something. I want to honor her but Im out of patience.
