I asked a question a few days ago (which most people attacked me personally just for asking) asking whether or not you thought blacks deserve reparations. Surprising, a lot of you were against reparations for blacks. Many sited that there are no longer any "living" slaves, your ancestors were not slave owners (probably becuase they could not afford slaves),others stated that the Africans were the ones that sold their own into slavery and are more responsible.

What about the remaining psychological damage that has been passed down from generation to generation. What about the "Willie Lynch" theory that was use to control slaves. Those traits are still manifest in African Americans today. What about when slavery was "finally" abolished and we had to deal with the angry whites who did not want us to have our freedom and to a certain extent the racism is still alive today making it hard for blacks to succeed (poor education, poor housing, broken homes, unfair judicial systems). Well?

My boyfriend (of two years) told his mother that he wants to marry me. Although him and I have talked about the marriage issue (more than he'd like to lol) and have agreed that one day, yea, we're gonna jump the broom. A few days ago his mom accidentally told me that he talked to her about marrying me... He even showed her the ring (online) that we picked out... What does that mean? (lol) Like if we've been talking about it for a while now, what does it mean that he's just now telling his mom??

Help! My fiance has 5 kids. I love them dearly, as I have none besides them. However both moms are drugged out, abusive, money hungry, vengeful women! The courts are no help with us. One mama owes over $3k, the other wiped us clean of over $40k in a divorce settlement her infidelity caused! They cause me and the kids so much stress, yet the kids still love them as their moms. Meanwhile I feel like the one doing all the raising, getting no credit and losing my shirt! I love my kids, but sometimes it feels like all I do is in vain. Should I marry my man? Or is this just too much to deal with for the rest of my life? We've been together for 3 years and the Mama Drama still upsets me.

My ex-husband agreed to and signed our divorce decree. In that decree, it specifically states what I'm entitled to. I didn't ask for much. Just my personal belongings and my share of the house (he bought me out). Our divorce was final on December 16, 2005. I've contacted him multiple times and in different ways (phone, email, and family messengers). He will not respond and I'm still trying to get my things. We're talking pictures, my son's childhood drawings and toys, etc. He says he threw them away. My next step is to have the police department escort me to the property to retrieve my belongings. I live in a completely different state and hate to make the plans just to find out that he HAS thrown them away. Any thoughts, suggestions or past experiences? As a sidebar, our divorce was uncontested and we used the same attorney just to process the paperwork. It was completely amicable until he found out I met someone else (way after our divorce started).

When and where is the best time to give somebody a love note?

My family and my fiancé's family and our friends are religiously diverse. My mother's side is Baptist and Catholic, and my father's is Methodist. His family is Episcopalian and Baptist. We have friends that are Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu. We are not particularly attached to any religion ourselves. What kind of service would satisfy all of our families, but not be too heavy-duty religious or offensive to our various guests?

What would you love to hear her say to you?

Be specific.

I would NEVER cheat on my girlfriend. And I never do anything outside of: smiles, compliments, and ambiguous checking out.
But, would you consider what I'm doing “bad”?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year now. He's claims to be very religious (when he wants to be), and occasionally will say his conscious is bothering him and we should stop having sex. So we won't have sex for about 6 weeks, then he will decide he wants to have sex. Being celibate is not my choice and I never know when he will decide that we have to become celibate again. Is it wrong of me to want to have a "backup plan"? Meaning, I would like to have a friend I can call when my boyfriend decides we aren't going to have sex. I am getting tired of this roller coaster relationship, but I really do love him, however I have my needs as well.
