Here is what I was able to find googling around. Feel free to check them out. I haven't been very impressed with our Safeway bakery's level of decorating skill for an even basic child's birthday cake, so I would be wary of them. I would opt for a real bakery that puts flavor over fanciness, but has real skill and artistry nevertheless. The cake will be in pictures and prominently displayed, so you want something nice. Make appointments and take hubby-to-be cake tasting! That was one part of wedding planning my hubby didn't mind getting into. Good Luck.

Many grocery stores are starting to sell some kinds of wedding cake. They might also know of some people who make wedding cakes if they do not. Also, the phone book and your carter should have some good suggestions.

You could also check online. Or if there is a Michael's craft store near you, they have cake decorating classes. I took them. You can ask if the instructor or one of the students would like to do your wedding cake. Most of the instructors do weddings and other events anyways, and if you were to choose one of the top notch students, they would appreciate the experience and it would probably be cheaper for you.

Oh. I was going to give you a wonderful place in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Didn't see your location. They told me they'd deliver anywhere for me. I have an unusual maiden name and my mom goes to this bakery a lot and places many orders every year since we moved to the area in 1985.

If you eat a cake and like it, find out where it came from. Go to wedding fairs and sample cakes. Suggestions from friends and families. I dunno. We had the best tasting wedding cake I've ever experienced and it looked good, too!

Maybe you know someone, or someone you know knows someone, that can make one. My friends mom makes them and does an awesome job--and they are a fraction of the cost of a store bought one! She charges about $50 for a whole sheet cake--fully decorated. Stores charge hundreds for the same thing.

You can also go to grocery stores, check the yellow pages, ask your caterer, ask friends and family, etc. Also look online.

Your caterer should be able to make some good suggestions, or the yellow pages might be a good start.
