I hear ALL THE TIME that environmentalists are all anti capitalist leftist wackos. I know I'm not, and I'm assuming alot of you aren't either.

My guess is that on the whole, environmentalists are not against capitalism, but are against consumerism. While there may be anti capitalist environmentalists, it is not an inhearant component of the environmentally concerned person.

I know, I know - it all depends on the size of the unit, the size of the house, the efficiency of the unit, yada yada yada. Just give me an average - my unit is brand new. This question involves reducing my energy consumption by installation of solar. I don't intend to connect to the grid because the cost then exceeds the benefit. I don't intend to connect the air conditioner to solar because of energy demand. I intend to to run part of my house on solar, off grid, so that I get my bill under the highest California rates. Then I can run my A/C for less than $.34 per KWH.

I craped in my fiancee's toilet and she will return home tomorrow. The problem is that her toilet is not working but she didn't tell me about it. I called the plumbing company and they told me that they cannot come out until next week. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me what do the numbers mean in the recycling triangle on plastics, and other recyclable materials. I have seen 1,2 and 5. I always recycle them no matter what but I wanted to know if anyone knew what the different #'s mean and if certain numbers mean they are not recyclable?? Thank you

I can not go on to Environment or Global Warming Sections these days without a certain Mr Jello making sure I know he is about. I think he might love me.

Evidence below: He keeps my emails and he even saves them. I am sure he is must be lovestoned because he keeps making crazy accusations, this time about me and a poor old Dutch bloke in Mexico.

I am trying to be kind to Mr Jello But I have to tell Mr Jello, that my heart belongs to my sweetie, but well I don't know how to.

Is this just Enviro Mental Wednesday or is there a more eco-friendly way of doing this?

Please help me.

Normally I would probably say yes, but in a system where environmentally unsound institutions are federally subsidized can we even say we have a truly free market. And if some things get special protection, than others cannot compete fairly.

Any thoughts on this?

I need to know if it will be snowing on christmas, December 25, 2007, this year in Big Bear Lake, California. I'm not sure what other information you need, but the zip is 92315, just in case. Please if you have a farmers' almanac, or anything else that helps, please share!

Concern for Green Issues

Are you from an Animal Right's Background
Or did you start out as an Environmentalist?

Further Info

ALDF's Future of Animal Law conference keynote speaker Jeremy Rifkin

Rifkin believes that you either come from An Animal Right's background - which stems from empathy for a fellow creature's well being and struggle (I came from Animal Right's Background)

Or from an Environment background which is about logic, rationalizations and systems.

How long do you think till most of animal life and plants die out?

Most of people are aware they injecting food will hormones or different to speed up the growth process. A lot of sea creatures are said to not be as plentiful as before. Many plants can not be eaten but the ones we can eat are pump full of growth hormones. So really what else is it gonna be if these things become extinct.

Coal-fired power plant is a big issue here in the Iloilo, Philippines. The government and other agencies who are pushing for its construction are selling the idea that there's is a "clean coal." I'm just wondering how clean is clean in coal?
