are you willing to examine the other side of the argument?

Below is a link to a film on Google Video which shows the Swindle, and after each argument made in the film, a scientist from Edinburgh explains what was correct and what was incorrect about that argument.

Global warming skeptics are often complaining that those of us who accept anthropogenic global warming are unwilling to examine their evidence. Are you willing to examine ours?

In fact, global warming acknowledgers have not only watched but also critiqued the Swindle:

Are global warming skeptics willing to do the same for this film?

Why is the government waiting for massive proof or evidence of global warming to surface before they do much about it? The U.S. government is only going to start going green if other countries do it too, because if we're the only ones, along with a few other countries, they don't think it'll make that much of a difference. I'm not sure if it's real. I'm kinda skeptical, but why can't they take precautionary measures in case it's real??? Where I live, we've seen major climate changes this year. It's 20 to 40 degrees less than normal and it's raining practically every day during the summer. Any opinions?

....shouldn't we add the affect of all the other similar animals in the world - elk, deer, buffalo, elephants, rhinos, hippos, muskox, water buffalo, wildebeast, etc.? Added together there are a lot more of them than domestic bovines. Why aren't we down on elephant belching and farting?

The vast majority of climate scientists agree that anthropogenic CO2 is the cause of climate change, and that global warming is potentially a very great danger to mankind and the Earth.

Many of these scientists work for the U.S. government. If they have intentionally misled the public for personal gain or in a conspiracy to restrict the freedoms of the American public, the FBI, under the leadership of the Bush administration, should expose their deceptions. Why hasn't this happened?

Some answers in these pages show a contempt for Al Gore verging on hatred. I can only conclude that these people must have some personal reason for such impolite behaviour.

For those who may not remember the past few decades, let me remind you about some of the public record. Al Gore served in Congress, as a congressman and senator from Tennessee from 1977 to 1993. Among all American congressmen, he was among the greatest supporters of the early internet. His wife, Tipper, became notable for her campaign against obscenity in music recordings. From 1993 to January 2001, a period of relative prosperity and peace, Al Gore served as Vice President of the US. He was primarily concerned with efficiency in government and balancing the budget. He received a plurality of votes in the 2000 Presidential election. When the election results threatened to become a constitutional crisis, he conceded to George Bush. Are these the actions of a power-mad global warming conspirator?

Some people, in answers on these pages, have suggested that global warming, instead of being a well-established scientific fact and a potential threat to the entire world, is in fact some kind of "tax scam". In other words, some sort of politcal elite (greenies, the left, Democrats, all politicians, satan-loving atheistic commies...) have invented the evidence out of whole cloth, and intend to scare people into agreeing to increased taxation, accompanied by political repression.

This does not make sense to me. First, the "conspiracy" must involve a great many people all over the world. Second, the solution need not involve any actual increase in taxes; taxes discouraging carbon use could replace other taxes. Third, the solution need not involve significant diminution of freedoms, aside from the current freedom to (collectively) destroy the world. We don't allow people the freedom to burn down their house, for example. Fourth, it will happen anyway, when the oil runs out.

Personally I think the earth has been around so long we couldn’t possibly know the reasons its doing what its doing. Years ago we thought the earth was flat and were pretty convinced there was no other explanation! Heck they even closed the US patent office for a while in the early 1800's because they thought everything that could be invented was already thought of. So we can’t be that naive to think we have the answers now do we? What’s your thoughts, what do you think it could be since we sure don’t hear any of the other points often?

I do want to add that we couldn’t possibly be helping mother earth they way we are now & we need to cut down on carbon dioxide & pollution no matter the immediate danger or not!

As we know the earth crust is shrinking naturally due to cooling of the earth, causing earth quakes, volcanic eruptions etc. The centre of the earth is very hot. Can it be that by taking out the enormous volumes of oil and gas, coal etc, the earth's crust is shrinking faster, causing more pressures, frictions, more hot gasses escaping from the earth into the atmosphere and sea etc, and thus causing the lately more rapidly increase of global temperatures?

Former Senator John Edwards won MoveOn.org Political Action’s poll on the climate crisis which asked, “Which candidate’s position on dealing with the climate crisis do you prefer?” Of the field of eight Democratic hopefuls, Edwards received 33% of the total votes cast–more than twice the support of the next two candidates, Rep. Kucinich and Senator Clinton, who each garnered 15.7%.

MoveOn member vote results:

Edwards 33.10%
Kucinich 15.73%
Clinton 15.71%
Obama 15.03%
Richardson 12.60%
Biden 3.06%
Dodd 3.01%
Gravel 1.78%

Edwards' plan is to reduce the USA's greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by the year 2050. So, who's voting for Edwards?

What is so bad about it? The sea levels won't rise, and if they do it will only be about a foot, because of the displacement, if you don't beleive me try an experiment, take a graduated cylinder fill it up with water to about 20 fl. oz. and then put some ice in it, measure the water level, then let the ice melt, measure the water level now, the water didn't rise much at all, because when ice melts it shrinks and the displacement of the water from the ice is greater than the amount of water added back in when the ice melts. And the thing that the planet will get warmer, yes it will but whats wrong with that, people can live in high temperatures and people will be able to live and grow crops further up north, whats wrong with that. and yes the planet will start to cool down after that, but this has happened at least 7 times before, even before humans existed, the earth has gone into global warming then an iceage, its a natural cycle, so why do we have to blame the humans for it?

Originally, Ted Danson said we were supposed to be completely out of all fossil fuels by 2000. Unfortunately 2000 came and went and we discovered more untapped fossil fuels remain than ever before.

So Al Gore insisted the world's cities will be under water by 2010 due to mankind causing global warming. The only problem is, most of us will be around in 2010, and he realized he's going to look as stupid as Ted Danson if the cities aren't submerged. So he changed the forecast to 2050 (whew), figuring he'll be dead and gone by then (double-whew)!

But after years and years of complaining about "global warming", we're now seeing record LOW temps all over the world and none of the promised hurricanes.

So now they changed it to "Climate Change", so that they can point to ANYTHING that happens as "PROOF"!

In other words, ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. How convenient.

When are people going to realize they are being SCAMMED?
