Now some lefty scientists have been given government funding to research ways of reducing the amount of Greenhouse Gasses coming out of a Cows ars.e. Has the world truly gone mad???

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t blame the scientists. They have found another interesting way to milk the government for money under the banner of Global Warming. But, who is stupid enough to sign the cheque?

He thinks the sun is the cause. But all of you loyal members of the man-made global warming church please continue to send in your tithes to Generation Investment, Al Gore needs the money to finance his private jet and to pay for his utility bills for his 10,000 sq ft home.

I believe it is for people to make money. But I think that we still need to be an evironmentally aware. I have always bought fuel efficent cars. I've always recycled and disposed of my toxic things correctly. I have always cared about the global environment. But I STILL believe that the absurd idea THEORY that global warming is being cause by humans is a scam to get money out of people. To make things more expensive. There are just as many scientists that are saying it's not caused by us. So don't bother with LINKS. They are silly and NO ONE reads them. Just comments please. From you OWN minds about waht you THINK.

I can agree that the earth is in a warming trend. Let's leave it at that. I can also see from the relavant scientific data that the current temps are near the peak temps measured at any point in the Earth's history(as interpreted from ice core samples). In this case I want to know the mechanism by which the earth will self correct. It seems to have a peek temperature at which the planet will "shift" to a cooling trend.

Here's my theory-just for a grin.
Earth heat's due to solar input and effects of Reflectivity/Absorbtivity. As temp increases ice caps melt. Ice reflects IR so the less ice the more absorbed IR=more heating. As ice melts water surface area goes up. Water is more absorbative so again temp goes up. Earth is a big rock with a melty inside. As temp goes up the temp of the big rock goes up too. Effect is to increase volcanic activity. Ash spewing into the atmosphere rapidly cools the water spread thinly on the surface freezing it in place. Reflectivity jumps rapidly. Chil

Can somebody explain why people keep saying that Global Warming is a natural cycle, and that it is all ok, and tha we are all ok......blah, blah.
Just to put it in other words.... Is it the same if a child is born naturally mentally retarded cause it is "nature"? or is born metally retarded cause his/her parents did drugs their whole life or drank alcohol non-stop?
This is the way I see global warning. Comments?

When I was growing up I was told that the earth's populalion would double before the year 2000 (and it has) and that the planet was not able to support such numbers. By the year 2050 there will be another 50% increase. Why dont we address the real cause of the global warming problem, it being the expanding population instead of trying to squeeze an increasingly green quart out of a plastic pint bottle!

the gloves come off. Its becoming a religion in itself.
No matter what your opinion is on global warming, do you not think its being blown out of all proportion?

i.e "pump up your tyres because deflated tyres mean your car produces more co2." come on!

The ice caps on Mars are receding several miles a year, and the moons of Saturn and Jupiter were ice and are now liquid seas. This is much faster than the warming on Earth, yet there are no SUVs on these planets, so how is that happening? Is it because it's a natural process rather than man's intervention?

Or is David Mayer de Rothschild (environmentalist and writer of '77 Essential Skills to Stop Climate Changes') right when he said it's because "they are closer to the sun"?

I have no problem with people having opinions contrary to the majority. And the science of global warming is complex enough for there still to be plenty to argue about. But what puzzles me is how much alike the skeptics all sound. They all insult the gullible people who believe the scientists. They suggest the scientists are part of some kind of plot. They blame the liberal media. They especially blame Al Gore. They seem to believe that soembody is getting rich from selling the idea of global warming. They're convinced that it's all due to earth's natural cycles. And they absolutely reject any evidence to the contrary. And their voices are so full of scorn for anyone who thinks differently.

I can't help but wonder why they all sound so much alike. Are they all quoting some conservative commentator? The similarities are much too striking for these to all be just individual opinions. Does anyone know where this is coming from?

Just to show you what I'm talking about:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geothermal_power

This form of power eletricity generation has the potential to completely replace fossil fuels sustainably for several thousand years and would solve the problem of climate change, reduce the use of water and land and the creation of other kinds of pollution (so even if you don't support the notion of climate change it's a good idea) and stop reliance on foreign owned oil at the same time. It is far cheaper to produce eletricity geothermally than through using "clean" coal or nuclear power and it can be done on small as well as large scales so you could create more efficient grids than with nuclear and not waste power by transporting it long distances.

The US and Australia are in the two best positions to exploit geothermal resources, what are we waiting for?

Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental threat humanity will face in the 21st century. Caused by an overabundance of the heat-trapping gas, carbon dioxide, in the earth's atmosphere, global warming has caused changes in climate worldwide as well as disruptions and dislocations in habitats and wildlife.

There is a lot we can do to combat climate change and global warming -- from moving to renewable energy to driving hybrid cars.

To me it looks like everyone else has aluminum can and paper recycling covered, and you can buy composting supplies off Ebay. The local Toyota dealer has a waiting list for Priuses and they charge over sticker price to boot.

So with a cofounder of Greenpeace coming out of the closet and promoting nuclear energy as the best large scale way to fight Global Warming, how can I start or join that movement at the grassroots level?

object laying in the sun at noon? Have you ever walked barefoot across a road at night? Well, we are paving over countless acres of land through roads and parking lots, we are continually building steel and brick buildings, asphalt covered roofs on homes, not to mention how much deforestation is going on. Are we slowly warming up nthe temperatures through this progress as it's called. Roads, parking lots, and buildings hold heat all night until the next day when the sun heats them up again, SuperMalls, huge city practically paved from end to end all over the world, replacing nice, cool, grassy meadows or forests. Has anyone ever considered this?

So, obviously, I don't know all the details on the concert, but i remember seeing it advertised on TV and thinking, "How is a concert going to help in the effort to prevent global warming?" I understand that a huge part of the concert has to do with raising awareness, but did that message really get across? It was a concert for goodness' sake, were there any long speeches involved, cuz I would think most people just went to enjoy the music and feel better about themselves(psh). I heard tickets were about $120 a person. Were the proceeds used for something? If so, what exactly? Is it the money that's supposed to help in this "fight" against global warming? HOW?! I just don't get it, and would appreciate some help. Sorry this is so long-winded. Thanks for your time :)
