Unfortunately the only way to have any chance of preventing climate change is to cut all carbon dioside emissions world wide to less than one tenth of what they are today.

this is what Al Gore called for at the live earth concerts.

The easy things that people talk about such as more recycling, buying hybrid cars, turning out the lights, buying cfls do not get you anywhere the results you need to prevent Climate change. Those are merly feel good publicity gimmicks to permit people to feel good about themselves without making any real sacrifices.

The only that you could accomplish the recuction in carbon dioxide emissions that would be required is for every person on this planet to assume a primitive stone age hunter gatherer existence.

Most of the people on this planet would die if we managed to accomplish that.

This could only be accomplished through the use of military force. It would be politically impossible to get voluntary cooperation world wide on such a reduction.

The people who survive the transition to a world that emits less than one tenth of the carbon dioxide that it emits today would live a hellish brutal existance.

Life would become very brutal and very short.

This is not an existence that most people would choose.

If you would like to see what such an existence would be like, I suggest that you obtain a copy of a movie titled "The Killing Fields" the movie is about the mass slaughter of over 5 million Cambodians approximately 30 years ago.

That is very close to what your life would be like if we succeed in reducing worldwide carbon dioxide emissions to less than one tenth of what they are today.

Fortunately there is a better solution.

Rather than being preoccupied with preventing Climate Change, we should be focusing our attention on mitigating the effects of climate Change.

The sea levels will rise .

Fortunately the areas prone to flooding can be protected with dike systems similar to those in Holland that are used to hold back the sea.

Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent.

We will need to help the poor countries that are affected upgrade their disaster preparedness systems.

Droughts will become more frequent and widespread.

We will need to help the poor countries that are affected with supplemental water supplies and desalination plants.

Fortunately, al;though Climate Change cannot be prevented, the effects of Climate Change can be mitigated relatively easily and inexpensively compared with the alternatives.

Nothing. The worlds climate has been changing for millions of years before we were even created. We are not even close to the earths core temperatures throught out history. During the Jurassic and Paleozoic era's, the earth's temperature's were on average 34 degrees higher than now. Thats why animals back then didn't have fur. The earths core temperature lowered hence evolution and the creation of hair and fur. THe earth's temperature has been rising and falling forever and is rising about right on cue. It has nothing to do with us. And some concerts aren't going to help it either.

You have no more control over climate change as any one else. U are like a grain of sand on the beach and u are going to change it all. Ha Ha Ha
