MissDevious...if I weren't a married man, I'd tell you just how attractive a woman who can think for herself is.
You nailed it.
And folks who keep on spouting off about how increased global temperatures produce climate extremes, please provide the science behind that claim or politely cease and desist. And don't give me this "scientists say so" BS.
And gizzbr1, Carlin may have addressed you like this:

Global warming is often called global climate change because people don't understand that it doesn't have anything to do with daily temperatures but rather overall melting polar ice caps, yearly averages and ocean temperatures.
In addition to recent high temperatures in my area we have also seen an increase in air quality alerts due to ground level ozone and particulate matter.
It doesn't really matter if you believe in global warming (or whatever term you prefer) conservation isn't a bad thing. Sure it is easier to keep your head in the sand and justify a current consumer lifestyle but things are getting crowded. Widen your narrow view of the world and you may be surprised by what is happening.
You do know that Ted Danson and Al Gore aren't scientists right?

Yes it is just a scan to make money.
When will we run out of fossil fuel...... Would u believe never. Just as the world has a water cycle ,it has an air cycle that where the plants take in CO2 and give us O2 and they keep the C for there own food. If u follow the C which is in the plants . the leaves fall off and wash down to the delta where the leaves decompose into Gas ,Oil , and after a long time Coal.

global warming is the same thing as climate change. if the earth gets a lot warmer, the climate has changed. climate change is just a more general way of naming the problem, for instance, it could aloso mean, say, the climate got waaaay colder, like another ice age, which, ironically, according to some, global warming could cause.

Global Cooling, Global Warming, the Ozone Hole, Weird Weather... the fact is, scientists don't have a clue what 'normal' really IS. And Libtards are more than willing to use every breeze of controversy to fill their egos. Most of the hot air affecting this planet right now is political. The truth is, this planet is a dynamic system that we can't really do much to mess with. So let's just do the logical stuff like replacing expensive fossil fuels with cheap renewable fuel and call it a day, okay?

I think the "Climate change" term is there to better describe what is happening. There is more energy in the system but this does not distribute evenly as heat across the globe. Some places even become cooler then before. The overall result is, on average, a global warming but this may be misleading when discussing some aspects of the phenomena. Hope this helps :)

Some scientists have started referring to the theory that way because a bunch of doofuses got it into their heads that global warming meant 'the world's going to burn up'. So as opposed to explaining to every moron who came along exactly what the phrase meant they changed the name. No big whoop. If you don't believe me you can look it up yourself.
And by the way, I want to see your data showing record low temperatures this year, because according the every major scientific institution dealing with weather and climate (the NOAA, the NASA, etc.) 2007 has been a record warm year.

ARE WE REALLY SEEING "RECORD LOWS"? I don't know where you live, but the U.S. is on fire. We've been breaking record HIGHS everywhere. I live in South Florida, I should know. Why did Chicago move it's elderly and disabled to cooling stations last week in over 105 degree weather? No such thing as zero accountability, we are all accountable! There is no difference between climate change and global warming, and hurricanes are not "proof" of either, they can happen anytime, and they will continue to happen. Please do yourself a favor and visit SGW.org, you'll learn something useful.

Yeah, it was probably a big, evil, bloodsucking, bloodthirsty corporation that changed it. Or the huge brainwashing mass media.
