what pisses me off is there are soo many giant SUV's on the road and the people that own these SUV's are NOT doing their part in conserving and they are the reason why the cost of gas is too high, ITS NOT FAIR that I have to pay $3 a gallon when i drive a Honda Civic and I conserve and drive less!

Talking about recycling.yet theres no questions other than this one in conservation, is it that the motives for recycling has been lost in the fact that europe will impose massive fines on the UK if we don`t meet their targets.

My gf is writing an article on forest preservation.. but we're finding it very difficult to find really strong points on why anyone should care at all.
The article is supposed to shock people into caring.. but it seems nobody really cares, so long as they can still go about their everyday business. What would shock people into caring?

We still have time to do something!

In as few as 50 years, America's polar bears could be gone.

Photo credit: D. Crosbie, Canadian Ice Service New research by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) predicts dramatic declines in polar bear populations as global warming melts the Arctic sea ice these bears depend on for survival. It has never been so urgent to reduce global warming emissions and protect polar bears from extinction.

In light of these findings, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has reopened a brief, two week comment period on its January 2007 proposal to list polar bears as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act.

No more delays or excuses - it's time to protect polar bears and their melting homes. Sign our petition to submit your official public comment urging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect polar bears from extinction!

Anyone else concerned about the health risks? Do you know what the health risks are? Or simply...the comfort of your home...do you really want flickering, draining, energy-zapping light in your home?

Contact your government representatives and demand that they investigate the risks more thoroughly before making it illegal for you to have incandescent lights in your home!
