We don't have to desalinate it, just a simple filtration would be sufficient. Would the salt water cause a wear and tear problem on the ceramic, the plubming or flushing devices if this is done? Would it not be cheaper to maintain and replace those instead of wasting purified water?

Why should we conserve? Why is green good? Why should I believe decades worth of research on climate change? Why should I care? Why should I turn off the light, lower the air conditioner, drive a hybrid ......

Has the general public tuned out and dropped out? Are there enough good people out there to get the right degrees, do the research, implement policy, write letters, vote, etc.

My new husband and I have started to do this in order to minimize our use of water and natural gas to heat the water. What we do is take a 5 minute all business soapy shower to get the grime off so that the bath water doesn't become gray from soaking and washing (lol ) than we proceed to the bathtub where we leisurely soak in a nicly scented bubble bath. Besides saving natural resources it seems good for health because afterward, we both feel happy and relaxed. I believe if that became the norm than enough water and natural gas would be saved to power a city for at least a year.

I bought canvas bags from my grocery store which are made of polypropylene. They are meant to replace plastic bags and therefore I would assume be less polluting. But is polypropylene biodegradable?

Damaged 18th January 2007 & subsequently beached the MSC Napoli was a nightmare come true for the 14,000 + residents of Sidmouth and the World Heritage Coastline off Branscombe.

Using explosives for the third time, the ship was finally split in two and a further seepage of oil was successfully minimised. We cant begin to calculate the possible ongoing effects of environmental damage, but could the ill-fated ship be a potential Golden Egg for the Devon Coast?

If the sunken half of the ship was towed a little further out to sea, it may attract a variety of marine life similarly to that of a coral reef. This in turn could attract divers, biologists, tourists (grottle) boat trips (?) media and could open the floodgates for added revenue to the nearby coastal towns.

What are your views.

For every gallon of paint, there is 1/3 gallon of drinking water, ( 1/2 a billion gallons a year wasted) for every gallon of Anti-Freeze, there is 1/2 gallon of Drinking Water, ( 1/2 a Billion Gallons a year wasted) For every Gallon of ?, startfilling in your ideas. just imagine how many products are made with Drinking Water that can be replaced with Recycled Water, Recycled water quality that has been used for decades to irrigate our edible food crops. The Federal Recycled Water Quality Standards, assure that the Class A ( abundant) Grade is suitable for these products and more. This is a Common sense approach to Water Conservation. But, Big Business has the spigot, and Drinking water is the least exensive part of their products cost, they will not consider change unless the public becomes aware of it and voices their opinion.

we live close to Redding California. I know a friend who works in the medical filed as a manager a home of mentally disabled individuals. One day I visited her house and saw a huge mound of paper work on just about everything, including tips about how to make certain foods "state approved" creamy consistency. what happened to the paperless society? the paper stacks on the table could be weighed in pounds, and this was only for one week. I am far from an environmentalist , however, even I can see that this is a waste on an incredible scale. what can be done?

Allow me to clarify...a species of animal (IDK, lets say the Cheetah) is going to end up extinct unless you kill a single man. You will be tried in court and the evidence against you will be overwhelming But by killing this one single guy, the entire species will be guaranteed safe for at least as long as you live.

Do you do it?

Besides the killing of tens of millions of sharks each year just to harvest their fins for soup and throwing the rest away the Chinese continue to use tiger parts, rhino parts and the parts of other rapidly declining species for their traditional medicine. I consider the Chinese to be among the most selfish people on earth. As long as they get theirs the hell with the rest of the animal kingdom! What are your thoughts?

Due to air drag, cars get worse energy efficiency (gas mileage) at higher speeds. If we lowed the speed limit to 45 miles per hour, not only would it save a lot of fuel, but it would save a lot of lives. Does anyone REALLY need to go on vacation at 65mph?
