I saw a recent article saying that in California they are going to try to curb the pigeon population by using birth control. Why can we just not trap and exterminate them? The common pigeon has become a pest in almost every sized town, city, and area that people live. "Rats with wings" is a very true comparison. And now adding birthcontrol to bird feed is an acceptable solution?

Why are pigeons protected and why are there not better more effective ways to reduce their numbers.

Assume I recycle both after drinking. Could be soda or anything else. I mainly ask because of the new bans in some areas of bottled water. They have canned sparkling water now too, which I don't mind substituting in place of regular bottled water. But am I helping the earth by drinking from the aluminum can instead of the plastic bottle?

Which would you rather have in your back yard? Regardless of cost, or effectiveness. I'm just wondering, because of the amount of people who slam wind power because the windmills are "ugly".

All I hear lately is about "global warming" and being "green" however, there is nothing wrong with throwing tons of crap in outer space? Why is that? Then why don't we shoot all of our garbage out of the Earth's orbit and quit wasting money and time about conservation and recycling? This is an insult to everyone that gives a crap about our "air", "environment", "world", "universe", and most of all "THE ONLY RESOURCES WE HAVE ON THE PLANET AND HAVE NO WAY OF FINDING MORE UNTIL NASA CAN START DOING THINGS TO SHOW US A RETURN TO THE DOLLARS WE SPEND FOR THEIR RESEARCH AND NOT TOSS THEM AWAY CARELESSLY WITHOUT ANY REASON BUT TO SAY IT'S GARBAGE!!" All 3 of these animals eat the fish that we could be eating, if we eliminated these competitors, it would mean more fish for us. On top of it we could enjoy a nice amount of meat from these animals while we were killing them off, as well as fine fur coats from the polar bears we'd shoot into extinction. I guess that killing off all the polar bears would be harmful because we couldn't get more polar bear coats later, but I'd be happy to hear what the loss in killing off the whales and dolphins would be, sounds like more red meat in the short term, and more fish in the long term, please tell me where I personally lose in the killing off these species that are competing against me for meat.
