Salvage workers finally managed to split the 62,000-tonne cargo vessel Msc Napoli off Branscombe Bay, on friday. Reports of further leakage of oil are worrying, but do you know whether the second spillage has caused more damage than the original grounding of the ship?

No, the second spillage has not caused more damage as the salvagers were aware of this and managed to clear it using dispersements. The Torrey canyon ship which I think was in the 60's caused widespread damage and death to thousands of seabirds, but since then clean up operations have improved a vast amount
