I've been a volunteer naturalist for years but recently stopped helping due to my work and politics. But lately I've gotten back into it, manning the nature center and answering questions for visitors. It's very rewarding, but I think I like the physical work better, clearing the weeds off "Tern Island" so the birds have more nesting opportunities, or removing exotic non-natives to increase the biological diversity of the habitat.
I have met a ton of cool people in the process. Many friendships have resulted throughout the years.

Been into conservation efforts and environmental advocacy since 2000. So rewarding and worthwhile.
There is still so much to do and we have so much to give!
The power to make a difference and touch lives is in all of us.
Calling more volunteers!

What do you mean by 'manually?' Anyhow, I may not volunteer work, but I do believe in conserving energy.

I am!! But I think if they made "being green" less expensive, more people would "convert". All the littles things add up...we just have to keep making them aware!

By God yes I'm ready just as soon as i see all those rich folks out there count me in. But as it is I'm sick of cleaning up after a bunch of rich spoiled snobs . The way i see it that its better for it to all fall apart then for me to do all the work wile the rich wreak the benefits . If they want me to do there work then pay me .

Yes sir... There are many ways we can be of assistance. My wife and I just bought four reusable bags that can be carried quite easily, (her two fit in her purse). Mine are kept in my car hooked by a carabiner to my dash where they are in view and remind me to use them. These are our latest contributions to the environment.
