All 3 of these animals eat the fish that we could be eating, if we eliminated these competitors, it would mean more fish for us. On top of it we could enjoy a nice amount of meat from these animals while we were killing them off, as well as fine fur coats from the polar bears we'd shoot into extinction. I guess that killing off all the polar bears would be harmful because we couldn't get more polar bear coats later, but I'd be happy to hear what the loss in killing off the whales and dolphins would be, sounds like more red meat in the short term, and more fish in the long term, please tell me where I personally lose in the killing off these species that are competing against me for meat.

It's all about the food chains. Ofcourse are dolphins, whales and polar bears mainly good marketing species for the sponsors to get more funds. If you promote the protection of bugs I think you'd get much less simpathy/money from people.
Every species in a food chains has a balancing role in an ecosystem. If a food chain collapse due to the absence of a key species, it can have devastating consequences for us humans. For example: China lately had a mice plage which mainly caused by the monoculture of crops and the absence of predators. There were no predators to eat the mice so the mice became a plage which destroyed most of the crops. RESULT: FAMINE IN PLAGED REGION.
The animals mentioned above are all top-preditors mostly in tthe polar regions. If these animals disappear without being replaced the food chain will be severly altered. This may result in plage of some species while other species may also get extinct.
The benefits you mentioned are only for a short period. Long term effects are very uncertain, and looking back in history many times short-term profits of natural resources lead to great irreversibel losses for nature and humanity.

well i think it will be a lost because these animals does not interfere with us humans, yes they eat fishes and stuff but remember there is more water in this world than land so what makes you think they are eating off all the fishes? Also if we kill off all the bears for their coat......will it really be that cold in the future? Because the last thing i heard is that temperatures are rising and not falling. Also nobody would want their skin peeled off for clothing.....do you? I mean there is enough clothes to wear in this world so why not save one life and feel great about it!

What? Do you wrestle polar bears in competition for meat? Fish? It benefits everyone to keep the earth in a natural balance...that means...DONT MESS WITH IT! Humans waste 1000 times more food than any animal on the planet may consume. I like knowing that I live on a planet with such diversity of wildlife...It's the intrinsic value of it...I never seen a freaking polar bear in the seafood aisle at Giant Eagle yet!

How could you even think like that? Dolphins, Polar bears and whales are beautiful animals that were on this Planet before we were. We are taking their fish, it is not the other way around. Fur coats are evil. How dare you! Humans eat too much as it it. I think we could live with out fish. Dolphins can't!

I really hope you are joking and just trying to get a rise out of people for something that is so blatantly wrong. If you're not joking, I hope you get eaten by a polar bear one day, because it's people like you that are what's wrong with this world. You are not the center of the universe, every living thing on this planet has as much right to life as you do.

Competing against YOU for meat?

When's the last time you saw either a polar bear, dolphin or whale ahead of you at the Burger King drive-thru?

So if we're gonna kill polar bears, whales, and dolphins, why don't we also kill those annoying birds outside my window that make so much noise every morning, and my teachers for talking too much, I'm sure everyone would like their awards hanging up on their walls, and let's kill spiders because their ugly, and turtles because their slow, and old people because they supposedly can't drive, and the people at yahoo for letting you post this, come on man, learn to deal with it, I'm sure if I can live with super annoying birds and teachers, and the good peple at yahoo, you'll be fine with polar bears, dolphins, and whales, jeez

Well, how about this. Bears eat seals, seals eat fish, seals poop fish, fish eats poop, seals pass on worms to fish. You eat fish ... worms yummy worms.

What's the matter? You look like you're gonna be sick. You baby, stop barfing! It's only a parasitic worm after all, just like you. Remember, if you don't eat it, it eats you! (link2)

(I guess this will be the end of a lot of people eating fish for a while)

There is a reason for every animal on this earth..they all serve a purpose..must I explain it? Well, I don't have enough time to try and reason to such a question....just know that not only do YOU serve a purpose, but every breathing "being" has a reason for being here.
