The world won't, but some people that invested in the stock market may commit suicide. Some people involved in sub prime lending will flee the country. A Hong Kong toy manufacturer committed suicide over the toy recall. The world itself will still be here. It was when the first nuclear bomb was exploded in New Mexico. It was when the Northridge earthquake struck in 1994. It was when the New York Trade Center fell. It was when Katrina wiped out New Orleans. The world will continue in its orbit around the sun as it had for millions of years.

Most likely not. We're in 2007 with only 4 months left. I don't think anything would happen in 4 months. We'd probably get signs the world was ending like unusual weather or just something weird. When the world ends, Jesus will take Christians that had faith in him and obeyed him and they will be in Heaven.

I read that the world is going to ' change ' (not ' end ") in latter part of year 2010 or 2011. The Mayan calendar thing. True or not ? Don't really care as I live in the ' now ' and am fine with whatever happens whenever...I'm peaceful and ready for it as I live spiritually. I've read nothing of the 2007 story.

I seriously doubt it. However, I was reading an article about Arctic ice melting by 2030.

Your question should be, "When will the earth become uninhabitable for human beings?" That is hard to say. It could be 30 to 100 years if present trends continue, assuming we don't find ways to adapt.

One problem we face is humanity's huge appetite for energy. While automobiles, power plants, and machines continually become more efficient, our demand for cars, electricity, and goods just keeps growing. China is now on the verge of surpassing the U.S. in greenhouse gas emmissions!

Another problem is the fact that many people fail to realize that even environmentally friendly states like California use huge amounts of fossil fuels. Over 50% of their electricity comes from natural gas fired power plants, and they use large amounts of gasoline to get around.

We need to be coming up with practical and cost effective methods of reducing greenhouse gases, if we are so concerned about the world coming to an end.

Don't worry when the world will come to an end. We can know it's coming to an end eventually. Many believe we are living in the end times. Waiting for Jesus' appearing in the sky to rapture up his church. The bible tells of the many things that are going to happen towards the end of time. Look up and know that his coming his neigh ( soon). I'm waiting for Jesus to come at any time.

What makes you think this?
People have been saying for ages the world is going to come to an end.
Well, our planet is still revolving.
NO one knows when the world will end, but God himself.
So relax, live your life to the fullest! Have fun! Achieve great things!

No one knows but God when the time will come of the great tribulation. Even Jesus would not tell us. It won't be the end of the world, though, but a terrible upheaval and the beginning of new things to come.
