The last time I posted this I received 0 answers so I figured I'd try again.
I recently heard "Heart of the Sunrise" and loved the way they covered it so now I have to buy some of their music. I'm amazed that I've never heard them before!
Has anyone ever heard them and which albums are your favorites?

After last Friday’s doctoral thesis, I figured I’d keep it short and sweet for a Monday. My selection is going to be QueenAdreena. This is the band with two former members from Daisy Chainsaw. I forgot all about these guys since they get virtually no press stateside. I didn’t realize they came out with an album in 2005 and have another slated for next year. Imagine Courtney Love if she actually had talent.

I heard yesterday that Dan Fogelberg died and spent the remainder of the night listening to his music.
His music has always touched me, I remember when my grandpa died, I spent the whole afternoon listening to Leader of The Band over and over.
"The leader of the band
Is tired and his eyes are growing old
But his blood runs thru' my instrument
And his song is in my soul
My life has been a poor attempt to imitate the man
I'm just a living legacy
To the leader of the band..."

What are your favorite Dan Fogelberg songs and in your opinion, will he be remembered?

Thinking of a response to Jake's question (link below) inspired me. I was going to spend 20 minutes typing out an explanation to this, but I think I'm going to leave the question open to your interpretation. This leaves the door open to sarcastic responses too, but oh well:

You buy the music and merchandise, see the shows, read the interviews, etc. Does the artist/band owe you anything for your loyalty?

Okay, so i've done the heavy metal thing and the rock thing and I enjoy many styles of music; I've got a good collection of music in various genre's that I love (ranging from Pearl Jam to Slipknot to Hendrix, even Spice Girls and the Pocahontis sound track :P )

I really like decent gothic music, not screamo or thrash metal etc, like the slower, sexier, darker and lustier type of gothic music. However, i'm finding it really difficult to find bands to look into, since there is such huge variety in what is called 'gothic' these days that it's a job of work to limit it to this!

The kinda stuff i'm into has a very industrial undertone.

Anyone got any reccomendations?

Cheers
:)

even so long after Jerry's death, I still think the band is enormously influential. Agree-ers or Naysay-ers out there?
(and support your argument, please...)

is it On Your Feet or On Your Knees, or Some Enchanted Evening?
and how many versions of 'Astronomy' did these guys do, anyway?

The people who have answered My earlier question brought this to My mind.
For Me a glaring example is Jimi Hendrix, that He was a phenomenal guitarist is beyond dounbt and I love the musicianship of His songs.
But His voice just irks Me so very badly I just can't enjoy listening to Him at all
And for Me the same thing is doubly true of Pearl Jam.
love the music, despise the voice
Has anything similar ever happened to You?
Cause I know several people who feel exactly the same way about one of My perennial faves, Rush and Geddy Lee

I loved his music, I will never forget my favorite Same Old Lang Syne. What do you think of his music?

2007-12-17 04:15:21 · 10 answers · asked by Beatrice C 6

Obviously I would think the answer would be
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
and
Black Sabbath
Beyond any doubt. Who else has influenced Rock Music more than them from the 1960's to right now? No One.
However if You have a divergent opinion and a good reson why I'd like to hear it.

Just wondering....

My mom and I were just discussing Christmas lists, and I I told her the cds I wanted, and she likes to look them up and give them a listen.

Anyway, I told her I wanted the As Blood Runs Black cd, and obviously she looked them up. They are a very hardcore/screamo band and she wants to know why I listen to that. I am a pretty quiet, keeps-to-myself kind of kid and if my music reflected my personality, I would be a LOT more loud, outspoken, and thrashy.

I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed this about themselves or others...

I've seen a lot of questions lately focused on the religion of various musicians and people stating that if they are atheists or satanists that they will no longer listen to their music.

So I was just wondering if the religious beliefs of musicians is important to you, why or why not? And if they practice a religion that you don't agree with, would you not listen to their music?
