So I'm just wondering what do your parents call your music.Not the same as what do your parents think of your music.What I mean is..

My mom calls it

strep throat
teen angst music (haha I think I was listening to FFTL!)

Well I remember my mom saying my music was noise and what "were they singing" since the lyrics were undecipherable. This was in the 70's. I used to tell me mom I understood all the words and it was good music etc.....
The other day I caught myself telling my 20 year old the same thing my mom used to tell me!
I laughed and thought to myself I have now turned into my mom! One day, believe it or not you are going to be telling your kids the same thing.

I'm a 45 year Mom who LOVES my sons type of music. BTW..we've seen 3DG, Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach, Hinder,Another Animal, 3 Doors Down, Poison,Lynyrd Skynyrd, Seether, Red, Black Stone Cherry TOGETHER! and we had BLAST!

I mostly listen to music they did when they were teens, like the Who, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd, but any of the newer bands that I listen to my mom grows to like, and my dad calls "british crap" even though every single band he liked when he was my age was british. And he still listens to those bands today. Ha.

I'm older but my parents called it....ya, ya, ya, crap that made no sense coz you couldn't understand what they were saying. LOL That's was for the Beatles.....after that head banging noise makers.
Funny though....parents heard Paul McCartney and such later and though he was such a fine young man and wondered why he wasn't famous before. LOL

Well I call rap, hip hop and r&b exactly what they are. Audio diarrhea. My parents never really gave names to the stuff I listened to. They just said I couldn't listen to it in their house.
