No. Influential perhaps, but not one of the 5 all time greatest. Remember, all time is a really long time.

David Bowie is brilliant, and is a legend, and is clearly one of the best of all time. However, according to many sources, and not my opinion, the world considers these artists to be the five greatest. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Dylan. Certainly this is just the world's overall opinion, and every person is free to agree or disagree. Personally, I think he's great, and I saw him in Tampa, and Peter Frampton was his lead guitarist. I would NOT put him in the top 5. Top 25, perhaps. :)

I like David Bowie, but he wouldn't be in MY personal 5 greatest of all time. But I think he's worthy of being nominated for an official list.

Not nearly
He is great and a big influence but IMO the five greatest artists of all time are
Led Zeppelin
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
Black Sabbath
Bowie can't touch the legacy of any of those Bands, I would rank Bob Dylan above Him as well

Too subjective. For the 1970s, he was most definitely one of the most important rock artists. But others came before and after him.
I admire Bowie greatly but my tastes are too wide ranging to have a top five.

No. First of all art is not only music, so you should specify "musicians" instead of "artists" in the first place. He can definitely not compare to painters or sculptors from the world art history.
But even as a musician, although I like him a lot, no I can't put him in the top 5.
