Great question. :)
Musically speaking, a great deal of what I listen to is hard rock moving towards metal. Some would consider the music to be aggressive and angry, and I don't consider myself to be those things in general.
In terms of the lyrics, there are a few themes in what I listen to that I can relate to - relationships (both good and bad), struggle and redemption, etc. It doesn't really speak to my personality, but I can understand the draw to it.

I listen to a pretty wide variety of music. I stay away from most pop/mainstream stuff though.
That is probably the best reflection of my personality. I get bored easily, and I can't stand redundant crap churned out by a record industry more intererested in profit margins than musical integrity.
I would rather go see a local band play some original music than pay 50 bucks to see some pre-fab b.s. band - especially some of these angsty, whiny little idiots like 3 days grace and breaking benjamin.

Hmm I think so! Like I listen to almost anything, basically if it sounds nice to me I don't really care what genre it is or if it's 'cool' or not.
And in real life my personality is very spontanious and open-minded, not scared to try new things :)
I think maybe in your case even though you are a very quiet person, maybe on the inside you want to be more loud, outspoken, grab more attention, and that reflects on your music taste, because when you listen to those songs you imagine yourself how you want to be, don't know, just guessing here ^_~

Not really. I'm a pretty quiet person and I listen to a wide variety of music. I think people would be surprised at some of the music I listen to. Lately I've been listening to a lot of hard rock which I don't think people would expect from me. My favorite band is Buckcherry and I know most of my relatives wouldn't accept that. http://www.buckcherry.com/

Well, I listen to a *very* eclectic mix of genres, such as :~
Classic Rock ; Celtic ; Prog Rock ; Folk / Folk Rock ; 80's Rock ; Acoustic ; World ; Classical / Modern Classical ; New Age ; Jazz / Swing ; Blues
And I think this greatly reflects my personality. My interests are many and varied, and I often have several different projects on the go at once, as I will flit from one to the other as the mood takes me.

I'm highly opinionated, a musician, diverse, eclectic, intelligent and educated. I am also old school as it gets. And I have a great interest in the Paranormal and Supernatural.
And Yes, My tastes in music reflect all of that. I tend to listen to highly complex intelligent bands with dark, esoteric, and clever lyrics and highly technical playing.
Such as
Hawkwind
Yes
Rush
Black Sabbath
Blue Oyster Cult
Led Zeppelin
So yeah, my musical tastes reflect who I am.
Great Question by the way.

Different types of music will get me into different types of moods, if I listen to rock, I'm all pumped up, like when I had swim meets it was great for that. When I listen to soft music, it gets me tired, sad music gets me sad etc... and sometimes I'll say different things that I wouldn't normally say, not bad things where people would be like woaaahh calm down, bottom line: good music that I love makes me more social and wanting to get to know people, so yeh it does change my personality a little.

It's the same thing with me, I asked for 'Allegiance' by As Blood Runs Black, 'Nocturnal' by the Black Dahlia Murder, 'Count Your Blessings' by Bring Me the Horizon, 'Goodbye to the Gallows' by Emmmure, 'What Demons Do to Angels' by Beneath the Sky, or 'The Cleansing' by Suicide Silence, all of which are loud and I'm quiet, but sometimes I'm outgoing when with the right crowd.

I would say that yes, my taste in music is a true reflection of my personality.
My taste in music can ONLY be described as eclectic. Pick a genre, and there's no doubt a band from that "genre" on my iPod. At the very least, there's a song or two I like. I listen to everything from classical and big band to industrial and goth to jam bands to rap to Top 40 and back. I'm unapologetic for what I like....
You could say the same for my personality. I'm outgoing and easygoing, and I'm adventerous enough to try different things and refuse to be "pigenholed" into a label. I just go with what I like and what's interesting to me. My friends are as diverse and eclectic as my interests, and my husband said that one of the things he loves most about me is that I'm as eclectic as I am and I'm totally willing to just be who I am.

I think my music taste sort of reflects my personality.
I'm one of those "eclectics" if you want to label it, i'll listen to anything, from death metal, grindcore, country, pop, RnB, hip hop and stage songs (like things out of musicals)
My personality is pretty much the same, sort of, i get along with every one, and dont tend to stick to one "crowd" i'm one of the loudest people ever, always talking, i find it really easy to talk to new people, yet at the same time, if the moods got me all rubbed up the wrong way i can go for hours without saying a word.
but i dont think that because its how i am its how everybody is
i know alot of people that listen to bands like ABRB and they're some of the quietest people I know.
either way, if your mom doesn't buy you the ABRB album download it or buy it yourself, or leave me a comment on one of my questions and i'll send you the album over msn or something :) Its an amazing album, from an amazing band, who have amazing stage presence.
:) i love them
hope i helped.
