Music - 28 December 2006

Can someone with a lot of guitar playing experience please tell me the most necessary things (from what tools to use, lessons, music to practice with, etc.) that I need to become a great guitar player...both lead a rhythm? Any and all tips/suggestions/experiences/links will be greatly appreciated! Also, how long did it take you to get really good?

I found out recently that my dad loves an artist named Carter Robertson, while we were going through his old vinyls. He never listens to those because he doesn't want to mess them up, so I'd really like to get him something he could listen to on a regular basis and in the car and stuff. I know it would really mean a lot to him.
Unfortunately, Shoot the Moon is the only album she ever made, and it doesn't seem that they ever put it on a CD. Does anyone know where I could download the songs or buy anything by her?
Thanks so much. If I can find anything at all, it would be a great surprise for my dad and I know it would really make him happy. Oh, and if anyone knows where I could get a record player that you can record cassette tapes off of the record, that would be really awesome...he said that's what he wants to get, instead of one that just plays records. (He doesn't know I'm looking for either of these.)

First off I'm not too into rap but I can tolerate Eminem...his more recent stuff hasn't been as good as his earlier albums in my opinion but for someone who's white he can actually rap. What are some other white rappers who have actually been successful?

There is a song by a group that is kind of punk pop./maybe alternative, and some of the lyrics are "im really falling for you , i hate what your putting me through, what have you done to me now i just cant sleep at night...and then it continuies on something like "you showed up at my door just like an empty movie...?

im sure ive heard a version of the song Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum that seems to have been done by Marilyn Manson. im not sure if it is manson or not but it im sure there is likea newer metal version of it and if ther isnt then i must have been dreaming but im pretty sure it was real.
