Circa 60's/70's. Sung in uk schools. Goes something like "One night while droving sheep, my companions lay asleep, ......." It then goes on about a procession of Aussie animals that pass him by, ie a kangaroo with a swag of blankets blue, accompanied by a dingo for a mate. I can remember the tune but can't remember the title or the full verses. I'd appreciate any help. Ta. BFD.

Singers used to be both talented and pretty. Dorothy Dandridge, Eartha Kitt, Peggy Lee, Julie London, Lena Horne etc. Even today people who are both beautiful and talented exist so why don't you hear such people in the top 20 anymore instead of no-talent messes like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan? Yet Zooey Deschanel's voice is beautiful and perfect and she doesn't even have a record deal! WTF?

Its my opinion that record companies are more interested in famous faces and pretty people than in really truely talented artists. Paris Hilton has an album.. I heard "Hinder" live on the Late Late show the other day.. that singer and guitar play couldnt play their way out of a paper bag.. but there were pretty alright.

I was at a hotel with a player piano in the lobby that was playing all my favorite Christmas songs like "Go Tell It On The Mountain", "Good King Wenceslas", "Silent Night" and "Greensleeves". I just sat down on the bench and moved my fingers up and down the keys. I was like "Yeah! I'm on fire!"

With the exceptions of Cher's 'Believe' and Daft Punk's 'One More Time' (and a handful of others), I can never really tell. Even albums that people insist are pitch-corrected, like Green Day's 'American Idiot', just sound like accurate singing to me.
I ask because I've always thought that dance music with female vocals was sung by fairies, or some other woods-creatures, just by its ethereality, but now I'm told that its sung by highly-processed humans. Does anyone REALLY have good enough ears to spot all instances of pitch-correction?

After watching the performance of LP in rock am ring I was shock by how this so called drummer kept playing the same bit over and over agin in all the songs. is not like lp is competition for slayer, in fact, lack of musical talent is one of the characteristics of the whole rap with electric guitars genre (just see limp bizkit, papa roach, korn) but I think this guy crosses the line. I don't know.

Hi, i've played acoustic the last 5 years and have had an awakening to pick up an electric.

Personally I am after a nice les paul type sound with a bit of edge and nice sustain, close as I can get to gary moore "still got the blues" for under $500.

Heres the brands I've come up against.

Prs Se series
Hamer(new models any good these days?)
Michael Kelly
Godin LG

Any suggestions? Im looking at new store brought stuff unless I come across something local.

Okay, the song was probably from the early-mid nineties, sung by a female. I think the music video began with her getting out of a tub and wrapping a towel around herself. Her back was shown, along with suds and such. The song may have been about her trying to find some guy. I think she ventures out into the streets to search for him, possibly still in her towel. I know this is a really weird question to ask, but for some reason, these vague elements of the mysterious music video popped into my head tonight and have been haunting me. Please help if you remember the name of the song or artist. Thanks a lot!
