What is a good and credible band you got into before they became popular on MTV that you feel were destroyed because of MTV play? ie...gaining teenie bopper fans, over-airplay on MTV and Radio.

beacause before like nobody listened to them but i LOVED them then
and then american idiot came out and i was like - okay they got some cool new music out
then Wae Me Up When September comes out and everyones listening to them abd stupid MTV goes and plays the song over and over again until people get sick of it - i think thats the only thing MTV does

i have a same feeling like you too..
they're all good.. but being overplayed ruins them..
fall out boy, staind, nickelback.. name it..
almost all the bands that have ever been into MTV..

umm..... ohh my god. like a few years ago i liked the killers, but they changed so friggen much when they got onto mtv.
when they released "somebody told me" it was like this totally ccommercial, overrated, cliche piece of crap.
they didnt change the mainstream- the mainstream changed them.
i hate them now. BLEEHHH!
but really, i dont know why i really ever liked them. now that i look back they were really kinda crap.
but i like more underground punk -- so hopefully it will never enter the mainstream,, and if it does, i hope its what becomes of the mainstream.

AFI. They used to be punk, but now they are homos. I hate the makeup and I hate the music. But I don't think it's MTV. I think it's record labels.
