I heard this song on the radio the other day but it say who was singing it. It starts off with a piano and it is quite a slow song, there's a woman singing first then a man and it goes soemthing like "Im alright" or "It's alright" something like that. Any help would be really great

I can't help but listen to The Mountain Goats over and over. I love John Darnielle's lyrics over very simplistic sounding rhythms. His music creates such visuals and feelings in my head, like no other artist can. I wish he was touring in Chicago sometime soon. What bands fill your heads with pictures from their music?

I was reading the lyrics to Evanescence Bring me to Life. What do you think is meant by the chorus:
"Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
Bid my blood to run
Before i come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become.
Bring me to life."

I hear a lot of interesting opinions on musical expression and age. Do you think there is an age that a person should stop making music a big part of their life and move on. Obviously this does not apply to session guitarists such as myself as much, because our physical image is not shown and does not effect the success of our art.

This also does not apply as much to musicians who have achieved fame in their career, because it viewed as normal to often carry their careers into older age.

Do you think it is weird to have a guitarist in his 40s still playing local gigs. I think a lot of it depends on the genre of the music being played, an older blues guitarist would be more acceptable to most than an older metal guitarist.

I don't see how anyone can walk away from writing and performing if the passion for music is still there. I'm 20 now, and sure hope I don't ever have to make the decision to stop performing, but what are your thoughts on the subject.

Hey, do you remember the song in the Butterfly Effect, when he wakes up with his girl at college or whatever? The one when he's walking to the bathroom. I don't know why, but I like that song. If anyone can help me, thanks!

I believe the song is from the 60s- it also sounds very psychedellic; I think the title of it is 'Painted Air' but I could be wrong; I only heard a homemade-copy of it off a tape recorder over 15 years ago and it sounded really cool; there would be this cheesy fast-pace organ music with breaks where the person would recite, not sing, the lyrics which are about the cold city and a pedestrian getting hit by a car:
"cars...
daytime and night...
running red lights (other drivers wont yield)
people stand around
tears touch the ground (and soon dry away)"
do you know who made this?
