I want to buy a second clarinet for marching. I cant use mine because its wood so i need a plastic one. I found one for cheap but I have never heard the company. Has anyone heard of a Victory clarinet and do you know if its good or not?

My wood clarinet right now is a Buffet Paris Evette Master Model. I cant march it because we do march in rain and snow and i wouldnt have a chance to dry it. My parents and my band director both will not let me march it.

The plastic clarinet does not have to be fancy. I just need to one that will work and be somewhat cheap.

hmm, i've never heard of victory. why can't you march with a wood one? are they making you march in the rain? i've never used a plastic one, they must sound awful. the first clarinet i had was just a run of the mill normandy, then i upgraded to a buffet festival series (which was AWESOME, i highly recommend it). i always marched with a wood one, and i never had any problems with it. if it got a little water on it, just dry it off promptly as soon as you get off the field and it'll be fine. personally, i wouldn't invest in a plastic one unless your director says it's mandatory. if you still want to have a different one for marching to save your good one for concert season, then get a cheap used one from a music store.

Victory clarinet- Not good. Don't waste your money.

Buffet, the popular choice of pro/semi-pros, would be a great choice for a plastic model instrument. Also good and very reliable is Yamaha.
