I was reading the lyrics to Evanescence Bring me to Life. What do you think is meant by the chorus:

in other words: I'm lonely and need someone to help me get through....
i've noticed she attemps on cryptic writing quite a bit, but still in need of practice.
it's not about being emo or any other label now-a-days...just showing the world what you're wrapped in...
it's a different story when you write from passion...and when you write to sell.......IF she's even the only author for any of that....

I think she's been through something traumatic and is numb inside. She's giving someone the opportunity to love her and she's willing to try to trust them so she can feel again.
