Ok, so right now I'm writing a horror movie of my own. When I first started I thought that blood and gore were the best ways to scare people. Upon research I found that it doesn't and only grosses people out. Does anyone have any ideas on what they think makes horror movies scarier because everybody that I have shown the script to thinks that it's going to be another not scary-pointless movie.

Auntie Mame is by far one of my favorite movies. I watch it all the time and never tire of the part in the end where she says she bought the land to build a home for refugee orphaned Jewish children.

But I have always wondered if there is any truth to the book. I know the author is Patrick Dennis and he is writing it like it really happened, but cannot find out any info about how much if any is true.

Any one know? or atleast can you direct me where i might be able to find out?

I was watching the Departed (for the 2nd time ;) what does this line mean that Matt Damon's character says while laying in bed:

'he's Irish, he'll deal with something being wrong for the rest of his life'

or something to that effect?

I want something really scary and/or clever. Please do not suggest Hostle as that snuff film was straight "yuck". I am not really looking for "yuck".

In many foreign films, the sex (and the sexuality) is very explicit, and the nudity can be quite prevalent, yet most European, and other over sea's audiences don't seem to mind, or feel uncomfortable with it. I mean, even a number of there commercials on regular TV, are very sexually charged. But if you screen that same film in the states, so much is made of the sexuality, that many people will walk out of the theater, cause some kind of a social uproar about it, or just not watch it in the first place (just a few examples: Last Tango in Paris, Eyes Wide Shut, etc...there was even some backlash against a pretty tame scene with Kate Winslet in Titanic). Are many (not all) Americans uncomfortable with sexuality in movies?? Do those in others countries see sexuality in a different light then those in the U.S.?? Is it just not so taboo in there culture??

Your thoughts??

...as far back as 2002, it was reported that Warner Bros' was on the fast track to get a fourth 'Mad Max' film out the gate; since then, a tidbit was leaked a couple of years ago, that production of the film was halted or postponed, due to some of the filming to have reportedly been sheduled to take place in some of the now (or presently) war-torn areas, over in the Middle East, and the ensuing conflict was preventing it.

It was also reported that if Mel Gibson wasn't going to afford his participation in the film, Warner Bros was still going ahead with the storyline concept that they had...whatever that was!!!

Since then, nothing...or at least nothing within my movie savvy radar; perhaps someone else's radar, out there, is considerably more keen...

Anything, folks???

In Return of the Jedi, The Emperor is frying up Luke with the ol' Sith lightning, Vader intercedes and takes a few bolts himself. Then he throws the Emperor overboard and Luke runs to his side. They have a touchy moment and Vader is clearly in the hurt locker. Luke doesn't want to take his helmet off cause he thinks it will kill him and Vader says 'nothing can stop that now' So, what killed him? He took the same lightning bolts that Luke did, but Luke didn't die. What gives?
