The snake was supposed to be a boa constrictor but was actually a black mamba.

I'm pretty sure it was a Burmese python in the film. He asked the snake if it was nice in Burma. It was a boa constrictor in the book.
That scene was filmed in the reptile house of London zoo, the last time I went there was a zoo guide telling a bunch of school kids about it. It's become a hilight of the zoo.

In the book it was a Boa Constrictor from Brazil. In the film they changed it to being just 'South America'.

idk i though the movie said boeconstricter -however u spell it- from the south or something like that
