I've always been captivated by films where the attraction is underplayed and clothes (usually, or for the most part) kept on. Not that I have any objection to nudity, which can also work (think of Donald Sutherland & Julie Christie's famous lovemaking in 'Don't Look Now'). However, if I had to go for one it would be Maggie Gyllenhal and James Spader in 'Secretary', especially the climactic scene where she tells him she loves him.
Incidentally, to those respondents who find themselves 'grossed out' by the mere posing of this question - maybe you should ask yourself why the simple mention of sex creates such a reaction.

The spanking scene from "Secretary" with James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal, the cake-feeding scene in "The Truth Abount Cats and Dogs" with Uma Thurman and Ben Chaplin (no nudity or even so much as a kiss, but dang, it's hot!), when Goran Visnjic turns on and really affects Heather Graham by rubbing his hands over her without ever touching her in "Committed", the bathroom chess scene between Jude Law and Matt Damon in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" (for the sexual tension alone), the entirety of "Preaching to the Perverted", but especially Guinevere Turner sexually torturing a "nun" onstage, the orgy scenes from "Shortbus" (of course), and the spin-the-bottle kissing party scene from "Mango Kiss".
Those would be my votes, at least.

hahaha I LIVE FOR THIS: excellent question. Here's a few favorites of mine! The Number 23- Jim Carrey and Virginia Madsen its hot! 300- Gerard Butler does like 10 different positions Troy- Orlando Bloom is pretty good at those sexy scenes! The Notebook- they're raunchy yet romantic scene yeah that should be a couple good ones! There's others of course, but those are #1 in my book. Hope that helps!

I love the scene in Pretty Woman when Vivienne sits up on the piano and Edward runs his hands over her, you don't really see much it's just the suggestion...love it!
Also most of the Thomas Crown Affair that film always does it for me, well worth a watch!

The sexiest scene in a movie does'nt have to be a SEX scene u punkz! It could be like when a hot actor/ess catches your attention or something! I would say the sexiest scene in a movie was when nicholas cage steals the black lambo or the shelby in gone in 60 seconds.
