hey there. Im from the UK and iv just finished my application to UCF in the US to study for a bachelors degree. I have had my credentials evaluated and have a GPA of 4.0, a high school diploma and A levels equivalent to one year of undergraduate study, all with grade A. I have commendations from my high school principal and some really good recommendations from teachers. My only downfall is that i took the SAT, for which i had about 3 weeks to prepare and i scored 1580/2400. Which i think is below the average for UCF. Do you think this means i have no chance of getting in? I have literally no time to retake the SAT and its pretty hard to do it over here as the test centers are few and far between.

I am taking the practice SATs and i noticed many of the grammer questions (that require you to replace the wrong part of a sentence) already sounded correct. Out of the whole test, how many questions don't require you to change anything??

I heard that if you guess on the multiple choice questions, they will give you credit for trying.

However, i also hear that if you leave it blank, they will not take any points off; but if you answer and get it wrong.. it will lower your score.

which one is correct?

thankss.

I took the SAT today and was shocked by taking 4 math test instead of 3 like in my princeton review study guide. But on one fo the particular math section was really hard, do you think that section was the statistical one or not necessarily.
2 sections of 18 question
1 section of 16 questions
1 section of 20 questions
so do you think the statistical one is the one with 18 questions? since it appears twice. tell what you know about these thanks.

I'm currently a sophomore in highschool, planning to take the SAT I in order to apply to a school specifically for science and mathematics [NCSSM]. It was a spur of the moment decision, and now I must take the SAT on January 27th in order for my application to be accepted.

The last time I took the SAT was 3 years ago. At that time, I had both the flu and strept throat-- put simply, not a very good experience. I have old Kaplan SAT books [© 2002], but I'm not sure if they'd be much help with the new SAT.

My question is: Should I study books focused on the new SAT, so that I can get a better understanding of how the essay will be?

What is the best way to prepare in such a limited amount of time?

Links, references, and suggestions are all very much appreciated.

Thank you.

I am takeing both and I want to know what to expect. I'm not worried so much about the English and writeing parts because I am a math major. I know they are just as important but the school I am going to (already acepted) will mostly be looking at the math scores.

SAT Reasoning Test
Critical Reading 40017%
Math 430 22%
Writing 480 44%
Multiple Choice 50 (score range: 20-80)
Essay 6 (score range: 2-12)

Okay, how good (or bad) is that? Don't lie please. I don't want to show my parents or anyone who knows me... not yet.
