Holy crap. I got a 1070 on the SAT (out of 1600). If I take the Caplin Course over the weekends and prep for my next SAT, can I get a rough estimate on how much that might help me? I winged it on the SAT, because I didn't take the PSAT, didn't practice for the SAT, and only briefly skimmed the Princeton Review's SAT guide. A 1070!!! That can't even get me into a community college! I can't even be a hairdresser with that score!!

And guess what! I have straight A's and am taking AP courses and honors. I don't understand how I could get such an abyssmal score. My essay was an 8 out of 12. I couldn't believe it. a 510 in critical reading!! a 560 in math!!! a 580 in writing!!!

God help me, I'll never get into UVA. I'll never become a doctor... :(

I got my ACT results back, and I got a 33/36, but I have no idea how the scale works and how it is similar to the SAT system. I'm shooting for a UC school, hopefully UCLA or UCSD, and I'm wondering if my score is good enough for these universities.

What's a good act and sat scores to get into, lets say UC Davis. What happens if i do bad on one section of the ACT. Does my SAT cover that area for me if i give colleges both my ACT and SAT scores.

Well I take it on Saturday, and I'm just worried about it. I have never took classes for it, or studied for it really. Most of my friends say they have had classes to tutor them for it. I had a 3.7-3.8 GPA from what my counselor told me last time, but the problem is that I'm horrible at taking test. When it comes to something like this I just do horrible I don't know why! I took the PSAT's twice (practice ones) and I ain't do so hot. So I have a few questions. Is it to late to study, will five says studying do much? Any test taking techniques for the exam (besides good rest and breakfast) more like guessing tips narrowing answers down, or if I don't know the answer should I leave it blank. If studying isn't to late, where should I study or what should I study. Any good links? I have great grades i just got Straight A's with the exception of two B+'s and two of my classes are AP (Advanced Placement) courses. Any helpful feed back would be very appreciated! Thanks

Hey guys, I'm a junior in high school this year.
I just came here for about a year,
and I'm still in ESOL( English for Speakers of Other Languages) program.
I've already taken the ACT and SAT once,
Here's my scores:
ACT:
English - 13
Math - 30
Reading - 19
Science - 23
(I didn't take the writing part, and my composite score is 21.25)
SAT
English - 300
Math - 630
Writing - 330

Obviously, my Math is much better than my English.
I have already asked my counselor; does college accept this kind of scores?
I mean where I want to go is not a community college,
I want to go to an University( I wanna go to University of West Florida)
Her answer was "yes", they accept the students like me.
my friend, she got a composite score 23 on ACT,
and she told me that I have to have at least 18 on each subject..(ACT)
And what she said is totally different from what my counselor has told me..
Could you all please help me to figure out this problem ...?
Thanks a lot!!

Critical Reading
Math
Writing
Multiple Choice
Essay

Do I add up the score next to reading, math, writing, muliple choice, and essay? Or do I just add up the scores next to reading, math and writing and not include the scores under the writing portion (multiple choice, essay)? Which scores do I add up?
