According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.4 km² (2.5 mi²), all land. The name was derived to be a smart marketing ploy and convince potential landowners that the town has never had, and never would have, a frost to destroy the large orange grove driven economy. A couple of years later a terrible frost killed most of the citrus in Frostproof.
