I got my ACT results back, and I got a 33/36, but I have no idea how the scale works and how it is similar to the SAT system. I'm shooting for a UC school, hopefully UCLA or UCSD, and I'm wondering if my score is good enough for these universities.

I had a 31 on the ACT and got into UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD (Revelle) and UCSB (Honors).

So I'd tell you a 33 will take you wherever you wanna go.

I chose Berkeley. I liked UCLA but hated Westwood. I hated UCSD, especially the Revelle dorms (they put the best students in the worst dorms, wtf?). UCSB was my back up and they threw a lot of money at me (Regents Scholarship and a spot on the Honors track). But my parents didn't want me attending a party school.

So once you have your score squared away, I'd strongly recommend you go visit the campuses.

excellent score! Great job. I got a 21 :(

I wish you good luck in getting into a UC. I'm a Golden Bear myself and would recommend that school along with UCLA and UCSD, too. The score is good enough as long as your GPA is just as good along with other factors like taking lots of APs, being at a good academic high school and being involved in extracurricular activities. They look at your family's economic background to see if applicants are "needy."

I'm not sure what the UC's want for sure but they will look at the overall picture and demand a lot especially UCLA who get an insane amound of applications where the numbers are already against you to begin with. Expect the best, but prepare for other options, too

(note: My ACT score was in High School but I did apply to UC's in High School)

Yeah, pretty much. I only scored a 28, but thats because I'm slow and I know it.... Its kinda over rated in the USA, but whatever....thats capitalism for ya.... If you get below a 25 or a 32 you are considered a risk in college. Why ? No potential. College dont want bookworms. I have a friend thats a bagger at jewel and he scored a 35, the same college that took me, rejected him.
