My grades are pretty good, I have mostly A's, and I volunteer a bit, and I have performed in a lot of community activities. However, I am TOO quiet in school, and never participate in class. I'm worried this is going to affect my teacher recommendations. Even with not so good teacher recommendations, will I be able to get in to the NHS? I also don't have any leadership positions for school activities, like president, or captain of a team. will I still be able to get in?

I have a test [it is kind of a huge-deal] in less than two days. I've studied 3/4 of my test material. But when I sit down for pratise tests, or even to review what I studied I can't seem to remember ANYTHING. I mean I need to go back & peek, and even then I don't remember. I'm so confused & just mad right now. I dont know what to do. I dont have time to study it all again.

Please help out? Tips, tricks, secrets, suggestions, anything will do. Please. Also if anyone else has ever been through this, & had it just magically come back to them on the test day, I'd like to hear your testimonies for reassurance.

In my openion the cost of any education, be it basic, graduation, PG or proffessional shall be such that Government can induct such a person at appropriate entry level. Once a time many of PGs', proffessional, and MBA's and other experts joined govrtnment in various caders like IAS. IPS IES etc., and we are reaping the fruits of that expertise. With present cost of these specialised training Govt. jobs (with their inherent responsibilities ) are ill affordable as entry level remunaration may not even compensate the cost such education to lead a decent living. How a doctor who spends about 13 to 20 lakhs for education can take up a job at 3lakhs p/a. and servive and pay back interest of his education loan etc.
The effect is likely to show up in next 15 to 20 years.

The Graduation was in May,1950. A copy of the transcript will do.But I have been writing to them for 2 mos.,and they do not ans. Why does the city of Charleston, Illinois allow under age drinking?? Does this help bring students to their community? Isn't it illegal? Is it okay because it's a college town? Shouldn't the police do more towards the effort to stop this rediculous nonsense?? Especially at the Charleston Bowl?

I am about to end my high school career and I have already been accepted into college. I've been having more fun since the end of the year is getting near, but my grades have been taking the toll for it. Studying has become a near impossible task for me. Now I'm afraid the college might reject me (I got into McCombs at UT) if I don't keep my grades up. Does anyone have any advice on how to help me raise my grades?

I am 13, 14 in two weeks. I am going into high school next year. I go to one of the best private middle schools in the country. And i am going to go to also one of the best private high schools. I REALLY REALLY want to become a doctor. What shoul i do now to help my future?

Instead of getting graded on anything (in school/college) what if you were secured an A just by showing up for a class,
yes you would still be taught information but would getting an automatic A (no matter how well you really would've done on a test/project) effect how much you tried or payed attention in school/college?

Would you want school to be this way?

Recently this happened to my son.The school has said they took it to the faculty and has been written up.So if this happens again there will be punishment.My son is listed under emotionally disturbed at this school and i feel the teacher wanted him to hit her while she had him pinned to the wall she was yelling saying i'd be surprised if i ever see you in this school again.After this happened my son noticed a red mark on his chest and went to the principal.I was not contacted by them.My son told me after school.They are hall cameras that would have got this on tape.I wanted to view it but was told they didn't work.I filed a police report and took it to the majestrate and was told under laws that protect teachers there was nothing he could do,and suggested i get an attorney,problem is no-one wants to take on the school.It's been a month now and i don't know what to do after contacting several lawyers except let it go.
