Instead of getting graded on anything (in school/college) what if you were secured an A just by showing up for a class,
yes you would still be taught information but would getting an automatic A (no matter how well you really would've done on a test/project) effect how much you tried or payed attention in school/college?

Would you want school to be this way?

If I did live in an alternate world where thsi was possible, then I would not want it to be this way. The point of school is to prepare you for work and if it doesn't end up doing that, then its pointless. I mean, if you were dedicated and even though you will get an automatic A, you would still do the homework and try to pay attention in class and stuff, then it would be alright, as long as you did learn stuff.

It all depends. Most people, when they are in school, don't realize that everything they are learning is important and will help them in life at some point. (Most things) so they tend not to really try to pay attention and understand the stuff. So this would definitely not be good for them.

This is kind of how it was for me in high school. Somehow, I ended up doing really well on everything even without ttrying too hard so obviously, I didn't try hard at all. Then I got to university and it is really really hard and now I am not doing as good as I want to be doing. And I regret not trying harder in high school to at least improve my work habits.

Anyways, hope this answers your question.

Huh???

Most of the prestige colleges DO give grades this way--they assume that if the person made it into the school (whether by merit or by having parents who attended there) that they somehow have great academic abilities.

It's called 'grade inflation' and it doesn't work.

Yes, it would affect you in college. It'd hurt people's work ethic. Because we get grades on something besides showing up, people have to work for the rewarding A.

No, because if it was to be a reality then what was the use of even going to class... I mean if it doesn't show how much you have actually accomplished on learning.. then what is the use of having a A.. and the childern would never learn from their mistakes..

obviously my perfomance in school would begin to desrease, its would be HORRIBLE idea. Then, maybe it's just best to go to school and not get graded at all! That way if you truely wanted to learn you would!
