Recently this happened to my son.The school has said they took it to the faculty and has been written up.So if this happens again there will be punishment. My son is listed under emotionally disturbed at this school and i feel the teacher wanted him to hit her while she had him pinned to the wall she was yelling saying i'd be surprised if i ever see you in this school again. After this happened my son noticed a red mark on his chest and went to the principal.I was not contacted by them.My son told me after school. They are hall cameras that would have got this on tape.I wanted to view it but was told they didn't work.I filed a police report and took it to the majestrate and was told under laws that protect teachers there was nothing he could do,and suggested i get an attorney, problem is no-one wants to take on the school. It's been a month now and i don't know what to do after contacting several lawyers except let it go.

The teacher admitted to putting the paddle to his chest but said she did not shove him to the wall.Other students saw this happen. Also just putting a paddle to someones chest does not leave a red mark.

Legally and criminal wise it all depends on your location. Certainly in Illinois (U.S.) if a teacher pulled that in a public school here that would be a huge huge issue. The teacher might as well pack it up and move out of state their career would be over. In anycase regardless what country you are in I think everyone is correct in saying contact your local media. T.V. and newspapers can easily become anyone's best friend or biggest enemy. I wouldnt let this go, go to board meetings, PTA meetings, even to the mayor of the city where the police department is located. Somebody will step up but it takes a couragous example set by you to get people to pay attention.

I used to think of a similar way till I asked some mothers and fathers and the solutions in 3 or 4 cases replaced into this: they are too enormous for a stroller or to hold. If we flow everywhere, the minute they'd they disappear, get into issues, knock issues down, get ahold of issues on the floor and positioned them into their mouths, they do. If we are in a huge crowd, they'd vanish so speedy. we've not got one minute as quickly as we are no longer gazing them or they have poked somebody's canine interior the attention. The "leash" is a protection gadget and promises them leeway to wander around us slightly without going off on slightly holiday by ability of themselves. i've got considered a number of those childrens and that they seem to be a handful in spite of all the parental efforts to do the excellent element. I agree that the excellent answer could be to objective and tutor the new child to no longer roam around whether it is looking plenty sometimes.

You don't give enough information. Age of son? Type of school? Reason for emotionally disturbed label? The circumstances surrounding the teacher's actions? It seems telling that no one wants to deal with this. Change schools and get into counseling for you and your son.

If you have exhausted all the other options legally and NO ONE would help you, I'd go public with it. Get the tape and run with it and bring that horrible soul-crushing paddle-shoving "teacher" down!!!! >:O That's what I'd do if that happened to MY child.

If it happens again, take other parents and stage a demonstration in front of the school, petition your congressman and others like governor and yes, hopefully you won't need to do all that.

Eventually you'll find a lawyer who will take it, don't let it go, that is totally inappropriate behavior for a teacher. Would contacting CPS help?

It is clearly no right. At this point, since you reported it, I would not pursure it any more unless it happens again. Let your son tell you if it occurs again. The teacher is so totally wrong, though.
