Why does the city of Charleston, Illinois allow under age drinking?? Does this help bring students to their community? Isn't it illegal? Is it okay because it's a college town? Shouldn't the police do more towards the effort to stop this rediculous nonsense?? Especially at the Charleston Bowl?

I don't know about the bowling alley. Any more though it is about impossible to get an underage student into any bar uptown. Back in the day the town was a lot worse. Growing up in the 80's it was one the biggest party colleges in the nation. That was when you could be 19 to get into the bars. The Police really cracked down and would basically stalk and harass the kids. In recent years the police have really became a lot more relaxed.

It's like that in any college town. Look at Urbana-Champaign.
