what would you do about bullys in your school? it seems like in the wake of the Columbine shootings in which they say the two gunmen were bullied by some of the other students, that bullys are still a major problem in schools. what can be done to remedy this?

I was helping out in a kindergarten class the other day and was suprised that a few of them had no idea how to spell their name. The ones that were able to complete their projects without teacher involvement blew through them and went to play, but the teacher spent all of her time with the kids who didn't know the letter H. I noticed during the time I was there, the self sufficent kids were barely spoken too while the other ones got all the teachers time. Are the kids who seem like they went to preschool going to get stagnant if they have to wait for all the other ones to catch up?

When somebody is engaged in selfstudy, after reading a complicated/technical text, how can one make sure that he or she had really grasped the material? What are the different ways? It is sometimes found that somebody confident about his or her knowledge later comes to realize that he or she only had a superficial knowledge. How to avoid this?

I am just about to complete a home study course in French and feel I now have a fairly good idea of how to construct sentences. As living in France is not an option can anyone tell me how do I proceed from here.I work shifts so I cannot go to eve classes .I am not studying for A levels etc so being technically proficient is not that important. At the moment I cannot understand French spoken unless it is clear and precise and as I cannot "emerse" myself in the language I wonder if anyone has any ideas on how to move on to a more intermediate level.Eventualy I would like to be able to understand spoken French in the same way I understand English and read novels in French without difficulties.
Any advice will be gratufully accepted
