What happened to the print-based encyclopedia industry when PC CD-ROMs and now the internet (Wikipedia) rose to prominence?

Encyclopedia Britannica still has an online presence, but do salesman still sell the 30 volume set? Do only schools and libariries buy them now?

Are Collier's and the World Book still alive?

Is it an undustry that has blossomed with the PC or suffered?

i am not lazy at all, i just like to do work that is benificial to my future, and shakespear doesnt seem like he would do much for me in the long run. what it seems like to me is that the teachers ran out of ideas for what to keep the kids bussy with for about 6 years. sure i wouldnt mind of shakespear was in history cuz he did some amazing stuff, write a reaserch paper on him and all is well. but its reading his stuff and pealing it apart word for word that seems just so pointless. some with diagramming sentances.

I Found this Statement on the Internet and it interested me in what everyone would think. Do you agree or disagree and why. A presidential system is more democratic than a parliamentary.

So 250 years ago Mary Jemison and her family and neighbors
were killed in a French/Seneca raid on an English town. Her
whole family was killed along with the neighbors sparing her and
a boy. So we all know that George Washington started the offensive creating the war. The two sides in the classroom debate
are Mary Jemison side and French/Seneca side. I was chosen
in the French Indian side by my teacher and my team is the defendents. So as a statement tommorow in Social Studies Im going to say "Why is it that when the English kill Indians and force them out of the land and capture African American slaves it is considered a lesson to mankind 250 years later but when
the French and Indians take the offensive and kill people
it is considered treachery and evil"? " Is it okay for the English to kill innocent natives to move into their land"?

I already know that those statements would silence the other side of the class and my teacher hates the governement but are they
hurtful?

cost:$1000- it makes sense because of all the things we do and it covers flight, hotel, food, places we go, and a coach bus to take us places.
fun stuff to do: tons like early morning show appearance, seeing lots of sights in Pennsylvania and New York, going from school, shopping on 5th avenue, seeing a broadway production and more.
I really want to go and I saved up 1/3 of it. My mom said she'll pay for the rest but she's not sure whether she wants me to go or not.
Is it worth it??
