I used to work for AMR. Try working at a hospital emergency room. Or try some of the little ambulance services further away from the city. They have more time to work before getting to the hospital with the sick or injured person so you get more hands on experience. Good luck...study math conversions and your algorithms for ACLS before you have to cram.
Go to the community college instead. Look into the reputation this school has in Georgia. I went to the school after I got my EMT to help the EMT students practice their skills before taking their state boards. They were struggling with basic CPR. I would not want any of them to work on me if I needed medical attention. I went to the technical school for my paramedic. I went in Georgia at Lanier Tech and it has a reputation of failing students if they are not top notch. I think we need that so that we don't have a bunch of untrained "medical" "ambulance drivers."

DO NOT TAKE PARAMEDIC THROUGH NCTI!!!! Take it from someone who has been there!!!!!
