I am researching homeschooling and keep finding only positive opinions/results. I would like to know if anyone, especially the homeschooled themselves, have any negatives to share with me. I would like to know what sort of problems other families have encountered.

okay, i had some issues at school, long story short, i was expelled. i am trying very hard to keep my education in tact, but now being homeschooled, i am a year behind.
my whole world crumbled when i was expelled, i was in all ap, going to graduate a year early, now i will be lucky to only graduate one year late. if anyone out there has been in this situation, let me know what you did, or how you moved a head. i am really upset about this, but i dont know how to fix it. my parents will not let me go back to school. (in a public school, i have to remain home schooled)

My parents have offered to allow me to be homeschooled..basically to buy me books of my preference, according to my interests and teach myself pretty much. What are your opinions on this?

I am very philosophical and have a strong moral sense and in general dont 'fit in' not that I would want to. I worry of lack of interaction, and dealing with situations.. this would be a huge change. I am in 10th grade in highschool.

this has been a problem since august, i am now going to a public high school coming from a private school. i screwed up last year a lot and failed 2 classes so my parents didn't want to waste their money and all that. i guess you can say i've developed a school phobia because my anxiety catches up with me everyday i am there. in the mornings i basically refuse to go because i just can't take it anymore. i know i'm basically complaining about it but its the 2nd semester and it's killing me even more to be there. my mom says homeschooling is not an option and we get into big fights about it and she punishes me by taking everything away until i go to school again. i know there's only 3 more months left, but each month i get more and more depressed about it and i need some really good points about homeschooling
anny help?

why does the goverment not recognise home ed childrenwhen it comes to exams,if a child is at school they can take them, but if a child it home educated then the parents have to pat upwards of £200 for each exam,,is there anyway around this ?

I've been homeschooled my entire life. I went to public school last year for the first time, and the kids there were'nt the brightest stars in the sky. I got straight As, was in two advanced classes, and just did really well all around.
But then it seems that every question on here when somebody who answers gets mad at the questioner, they say stuff like "you must've been homeschooled"
That really pisses me off, we aren't stupid at all, and the ones who are it's because they wreen't doing well in the crappy public school system and had to be pulled out and taught at home.
So does anybody think we're stupid? If you do, give an actual reason, examples. It seems like you have nothing to back up your mean statements.

we're cleaning out folders today, i guess you can call it spring cleaning. when i was a teen in public school the school would have a spring cleaning day, where we'd throw out old work from the first semester. do any of you hang on to their work? besides their history work (we do the classical education) i cant see a reason to hang on to this stuff.
